Action star Gerard Butler is making a comeback for the fourth time in the Fallen film series. Night Has Fallen was announced by Millennium Media during this year’s American Film Market event. Apparently, Gerard is not the only one returning to the movie series. Angel Has Fallen director, Ric Roman Waugh, will also make his comeback to direct the film. However, it is expected that Ric will establish a different direction to the movie due to it being the first of three chapters in the books. Gerard and Ric have been very productive partners this year. They previously collaborated on a film called Greenland, a thriller movie where a planet-killing comet hurtles toward earth and humanity must find a way to survive.
Gerard is widely known for his role as King Leonidas in the movie 300. Now, he’s ready to take another action-filled movie as Mike Banning in the upcoming Night Has Fallen.
What Is The Plot Of Night Has Fallen?
At this point in time, Millennium Media has yet to reveal the plot for Night Has Fallen. However, it’s speculated that Banning will take the role as the director of the Secret Service. He’s also expected to take the task of protecting the new president of the United States, Allan Trumbull, which will be played by Morgan Freeman. Banning showcased his skills and courage in protecting Benjamin Asher, the US president during Olympus Has Fallen and London Has Fallen. After preventing a potentially massive scale war, fans are wondering what bigger threats Banning is going to face?
Fallen Series To Recieve TV Spinoffs
According to the Fallen series producer, Alan Siegel, they will add three more sequels to the series. One of which is the upcoming Night Has Fallen. He also told the fans that they’re considering making TV spinoffs related to the film. The Fallen film series has grossed over $523 million worldwide. It’s widely known in other countries and has received a lot of positive reviews. With the series potentially getting a TV spinoff, fans might be able to see a jam-packed action with Mike Banning for a long time. At this point in time, Alan Siegel has yet to reveal pieces of information about the spinoff.
Night Has Fallen Release Date
The release date for Night Has Fallen has yet to be announced. However, fans will be able to see Gerard Butler in action on the upcoming Greenland film, which is set to be released on December 18 on premium video streaming platforms. With the global pandemic still around, it may take some time before Night Has Fallen hits the theaters.
