Bringing Up Bates stars Travis and Katie Bates Clark have been documenting their busy lives since relocating to Tennessee. The married couple welcomed their second child, Harvey, on September 29, 2024. Aside from parenting, Katie has also been supporting her husband’s music career, which is also one of the main reasons why they moved to Tennessee. But amid all the positivity, the two may be going through a rough time as Travis’ father gets hospitalized for surgery. Keep reading to see what happened.
Bringing Up Bates: How Are Katie Bates & Travis Clark Today?
Travis and Katie have been documenting the renovation of their new home in Tennessee. Recently, the Bringing Up Bates stars shared a clip of them cleaning up their house and putting on the final touches before decorating. The married couple then unloaded the carpets and began hanging some of their photos while their daughter cheered for them. Katie captioned, “I’m so excited to see everything coming together and can’t wait to fill our new home with the best memories!”
Many fans were also impressed by how clean and cozy Travis and Katie’s house is. Katie also celebrated her daughter’s second birthday in their new home. She set up mini tents for Hailey’s cousins and friends, making her second birthday unforgettable.
Katie’s Father-In-Law Undergoes Heart Surgery
Some Bringing Up Bates fans on Reddit react to a social media post by Travis Clark’s uncle, Charles. According to Charles, they have been overwhelmed by the prayers, support, and love shown to them as Michael prepares himself for heart surgery. Charles added that Michael was incredibly grateful. He then revealed that Travis’ father’s surgery was moved to Friday morning, adding that it may be God’s plan to delay the operation.
He continued, “Roman 8:28 is so true! Please continue to pray. We will update everyone on Friday after surgery. Thank you!” Katie and Travis have yet to address Michael’s heart surgery. But many fans wish Katie’s father-in-law the best in his dangerous surgery.
Bringing Up Bates: Katie Bates Asks For Prayers
Katie Bates Clark also took to IG Stories to ask for prayers ahead of her father-in-law’s surgery. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, they’re heading to New Jersey and may spend several days there for the upcoming heart surgery of Travis’ father. Katie added that it was a serious procedure with a long recovery, and every prayer would be appreciated. On a positive note, Katie revealed that her daughter is excited to see her grandparents again.
Michael Clark is a father to three kids, Michael Jr, Travis, and Kayla. Michael was previously diagnosed with an aneurysm on his ascending aorta. In February 2025, he had a heart catheterization, which is the main reason for his upcoming open heart surgery. Michael raised a family of musicians, The Clark Family Band. They have recorded several albums, and Travis is now walking on his own path of becoming a successful solo singer.
