Bringing Up Bates: Kelly Jo Bates Explains Traumatic Health Scare
Last month, Kelly Jo took to social media to explain what happened to her during her visit to Mama Jane and Papa Bill. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, it was her third day in South Carolina when she suddenly felt intense pain. She remembers that her face got very swollen after having her kidney stone removed. Kelly Jo added that the infection had gotten into her blood, and she would’ve died if she had waited for a day.
Kelly Jo was also grateful for her kids, who rushed to the hospital to look after her. One of them was Michaela, who prepared meals for her throughout her recovery. Kelly Jo also woke up in her room. Carlin and Josie bawled over her, making her think they were saying their goodbyes. She added, “One by one, I watched my kids come in, praying with me, crying over me, hugging me & all I could think was how very blessed I am. My husband never left my side. I could see the concern & love in his face , & I was even more grateful for him than ever before.”

Kelly Jo Bates recently took to social media to wish her granddaughter, Maci Jo, a happy birthday. She’s the fourth child of John and Alyssa Bates Webster. But what caught the attention of many was Kelly Jo traveling to Florida to watch Maci Jo at her play. It just shows that the Bringing Up Bates star can now travel again after a major health scare. She continued, “Your smile is the most beautiful sight. But you’re also so very well-mannered. It’s hard to believe at only 4 years old you can be so quiet, calm, patient, grateful, and easy going!” Many fans were also amazed by how big Maci Jo has become.
