Bringing Up Bates star Lydia Bates is back with new updates about her son, Ryker. The 26-year-old mom has been documenting her healing journey following a miscarriage earlier this year. Most of the time, Trace’s wife uploads YouTube vlogs about their recent trips. The two also celebrated their second wedding anniversary this month. Bringing Up Bates: Lydia & Trace Bates Celebrate Anniversary
Earlier this month, Trace took to social media to share a heartwarming message for his wife, Lydia, as they celebrate their second wedding anniversary. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, he still couldn’t believe Lydia is his wife, adding that spending life with her was his “absolute favorite.” The married couple went on a trip to Oahu, Hawaii, to celebrate their milestone. Lydia revealed they spent days at a little studio Airbnb, and the view was perfect. She also revealed that one of her sisters-in-law took care of her cat, Maui, while they were away.
Lydia Shares Surprising Facts About Ryker
In an IG Stories post, Lydia shared adorable facts about her son. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, she and Trace did leave their son to his grandparents while they were on vacation, but he had a blast spending his time with them. “He got spoiled and loved on the whole time,” she added before saying that her family made it easier for him and Trace to do a solo trip.
Lydia Bates later shared that she’s trying to teach her son her native German language. She revealed that Ryker likes to say “auf und zu,” which translates to “open and close,” but he was saying it like “zumm.”

Aside from stories about her son, Lydia also took to IG Stories to agree with a fan that Ryker looked a lot like his father when they were both still babies. This wasn’t the first time Ryker was compared to someone from the Bates family. Many Bringing Up Bates fans think Ryker is starting to look like his grandfather, Gil Bates. Some fans can’t get over his blue eyes, which he may have gotten from his mother.
