Indiana man behind bars after reporting he’s tired
An Indiana man named Daniel Schroeder was taken into custody earlier this week after repeatedly calling 911 to report that he was tired. According to Daily News, Daniel Schroeder is 61-years-old. He allegedly called 911 on four different occasions during the same evening. During all four phone calls, the Indiana man called for nothing more than to report he was tired.
After the fourth phone call during the same evening, 911 dispatch grew tired of his phone calls. He was taken into custody on Tuesday of this week. Court documents reveal Daniel Schroeder will now spend two months behind bars, where many hope he can finally get caught up on all of the sleep he was reportedly not getting.
This is not Daniel Schroeder’s first misuse of the 911 system
Turns out, this Indiana man is no stranger to getting in trouble with the law. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time he’s gotten in trouble for misusing the 911 emergency reporting system.
Daniel Schroeder made multiple phone calls to report he was tired just one day after pleading guilty to abusing the emergency system. Daniel plead guilty to using 911 to report he was unhappy with a relative who “was not following his rules.”
The Indiana man was sentenced to six months in jail. The sentence, however, was suspended under the condition that he didn’t abuse the 911 emergency system again. After pleading guilty to abusing the system again, he was sentenced to two months behind bars. Daniel Schroeder was charged with a misdemeanor for abusing the 911 emergency reporting system.
Turns out, Daniel Schroeder also had a run-in with the law back in May of this year. He was charged with possession, operating a vehicle while under the influence, and leaving the scene of an accident. Turns out, he was allegedly three times the legal limit while driving through a cemetery. He reportedly damaged at least four headstones.
Those reacting to this news on social media believe the Indiana man should have to spend the original six months behind bars and consider the two-month sentence for a repeated offense to be a slap on the wrist.
