Brooklyn Nets Sign All-Star Blake Griffin Halfway Through NBA Season

The NBA All-Star break is finally over and teams are getting ready for the second half of the season. It’s widely known that teams usually become more competitive whenever the All-Star break ends. Now, the Brooklyn Nets surprised the fans with their latest addition as they prepare for a solid playoff run this season. Apparently, the Nets signed six-time NBA All-Star Blake Griffin. This gives the team an insane big four, which might be a problem for the defending champions, Los Angeles Lakers.

NBA: Brooklyn Nets Sign Blake Griffin

The Brooklyn Nets just signed Blake Griffin, making them one of the most dangerous teams in the league today. According to Nets General Manager Sean Marks, “We’re fortunate to be able to add a player of Blake’s caliber to our roster at this point in the season.” He also believes that Griffin will be a perfect addition to the team and will bring a huge impact ahead of the second half of the season.

According to reports, Griffin chose the Nets instead of the Los Angeles Lakers as he feels that the Nets are more competitive. He also admits that he joined the Nets because he wanted to win a championship. Griffin also said that he has huge respect for Steve Nash, who’s currently the head coach of the Nets.

Blake & DeAndre Reunited

Aside from wanting to win a ring, Blake Griffin also admits that his former teammate DeAndre Jordan also has an impact on why he joined the Brooklyn Nets. “We go way back. Anybody who you’re that familiar with, it always makes it easier. That definitely played a part”, Griffin said during an interview. Jordan and Griffin are known for their “Lob City” days with the Los Angeles Clippers. Due to this, fans can expect incredible highlights in the Nets in their upcoming games.

NBA: Lakers Planning To Sign Andre Drummond To Answer The Nets

Fans are keeping an eye on the Los Angeles Lakers after they fail to sign Blake Griffin. Apparently, the Lakers are currently struggling as they head towards the second half of the season. Now, reports claim that the Lakers are looking forward to signing Andre Drummond if he gets a buyout from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Reports also claim that the Lakers are in a “strong consideration” of signing the dominant center as an answer to the Brooklyn Nets. Meanwhile, fans are expecting that the Nets and Lakers will become one of the biggest rivalries for years to come.
