The Brooklyn Nets have been on a roll this season. The team is currently on an 8-game winning streak led by Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant. However, the team will face problems over the next couple of games as Kevin Durant suffered a worrying injury. Durant suffered a left hamstring strain. Sadly, his injury will also force him to sit out for the rest of the All-Star break.
NBA: Kevin Durant To Miss All-Star Break Due To Left Hamstring Strain
According to the Brooklyn Nets, Kevin Durant will miss the All-Star break after suffering from a left hamstring strain. Nets head coach Steve Nash also shared his thoughts about the disappointing news. “Well, it sucks to not have Kevin. He’s an amazing, amazing basketball player. And, anytime you have the Lamborghini in the garage, it’s meant to be on the road. So, we’re all disappointed,” he said. Durant suffered the injury during their game against the Golden State Warriors.
Nash also revealed that they will continue to monitor Durant to see if he’s able to play in upcoming games. “Part of it is Mother Nature, and just figuring out the course of rehab and then ramping him back up when he is healthy enough so that he doesn’t come back prematurely,” Nash added.
Who Will Replace Kevin Durant?
The unfortunate departure of Kevin Durant from the upcoming All-Star break opened up a new opportunity for a rising star. Apparently, Durant will be replaced by Indiana Pacers’ Domantas Sabonis, who’s been playing very well lately.
At this point, the NBA has yet to reveal if Durant will remain the team captain of his All-Star team. Meanwhile, fans are disappointed that Durant had to miss the All-Star game. He’s been playing at an MVP level despite coming off from an Achilles injury. However, the Nets had to make sure that their superstar will remain healthy throughout the season.
NBA: Will The Nets Continue Their Winning Streak?
The Brooklyn Nets have been dominating in the league. They’re currently on an 8-game winning streak and it appears that they’ve been having so much fun lately. Some fans are worried about Durant’s left hamstring strain. However, the Nets have already proven themselves that they can win multiple games without Durant. The Nets won six of their games from their eight-game win streak without Durant. Meanwhile, Kyrie Irving and James Harden continue to prove themselves in the league. Irving is currently leading the league in offensive rating, averaging 27.4 points per game. On the other hand, Harden has been doing his usual isolation playstyle and teams have been struggling on defending him.
The Brooklyn Nets will face the Dallas Mavericks on February 28, 2021.
