Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most popular open-world games today. Released in 2018, Red Dead Redemption 2 features the story of the Van der Linde gang and their struggles to live in a world where outlaws are being pursued by lawmen. Now, the gang needs to find a way to gain enough money to escape the law and retire.
Apparently, the story mode wasn’t the only way to enjoy the game. There’s also a multiplayer mode called Red Dead Online, where players can do real-life tasks in order to live a normal life. Fortunately, fans will no longer need to buy the base game in order to play the multiplayer mode.
Red Dead Online Will Be A Standalone Game
According to Rockstar Games, Red Dead Online will be a standalone game on December 1, 2020. Players will be able to purchase it in PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Launcher, Epic Games Store, and Steam. Rockstar Games also announced that the price will start at an introductory offer of $4.99, which is 75 percent off the regular price. The special offer will last until February 15, 2021. However, those who play on PlayStation and Xbox consoles will still need to subscribe to PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold. The game will also have backward compatibility for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.
How To Play Red Dead Online
Red Dead Online lets players make their own story in the wild west. Players can select one of five unique Specialist Roles, such as a Bounty Hunter, Naturalist, Trader, Collector, and being an owner of a Moonshine distillery. There’s also a series of story-based cooperative missions where two to four players can participate. Red Dead Online also features Showdown Modes where players can fight head-to-head in classic gunfights to win a good amount of supplies. Players can also roam freely in the world as well as purchase clothes and horses.
Rockstar Announces Bounty Hunter’s Role Expansion
Rockstar Games announced a new expansion coming to Red Dead Online. It’s called Bounty Hunter’s Role Expansion, which features 10 more Bounty Hunter ranks. The expansion will also bring new prestigious weapons that players can unlock by tracking down new criminals. Aside from that, players will receive a double XP this week as a celebration for the upcoming expansion. Those who are new to the game can easily access bounty hunting missions by finding the Legendary Bounty Hunter in Rhodes, who will later give the Bounty Hunter License.
