Whitney Houston passed away on February 11th, 2012, and there has been a gaping hole in the music industry ever since. Whitney Houston Is Now Every Kid’s Dream
In the eighties, Whitney Houston lit up the world and the radio with her voice. She could sing like nobody’s business and was stunning to boot. With hits like “So Emotional,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” and “How Will I Know?,” everyone wanted to be her. Then, in the nineties, she amassed even more fame as an actress in The Bodyguard. Sadly, the six-time Grammy winner passed away in 2012, but she has never been forgotten
Now, she is officially immortalized as a doll, thanks to the geniuses over at Mattel. She is now part of the Barbie family, with her doll being released on her 63rd birthday. Whitney is dressed just as she did in the “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” video, complete with her signature hair. She embodied everything that fans loved about the icon and so very much more. To complete her look, she has a microphone and mic stand. It is like having a personal Whitney Houston and can be purchased for under $60 on Amazon.
Despite the amazing gesture, some fans are hurt as they believed this should have happened when she was alive. Regardless, the likeness is incredible, and this is going to be a doll to collect if you’re a fan of Whitney. Moreover, if you grew up in the eighties, it is filled with nostalgia.

The Whitney Houston Barbie just came out on August 9th, 2026, but fans are already waiting at their doors for her to arrive. Some pre-ordered while others checked out the morning of and are ready to dance with Whitney:

Now, this doll is twenty years in the making. Whitney’s sister-in-law, Pat, shared that she was not into putting her name on anything. However, this was something she could get behind:
“Whitney had never really endorsed anything, and we started having conversations about her brand … we talked about a Mattel doll 20 years ago.”
