Best Pregnancy-Friendly ‘Cocktails’

When you are pregnant, it feels like there are so many limits, but many are worth it to bring a healthy baby into the world. Yet, when you go out or on a vacation, you may want to indulge in a “cocktail.” So, what are some pregnancy-friendly beverages for any woman to enjoy? Keep reading for more details.
Best Pregnancy-Friendly ‘Cocktails’
With summer coming up, it is easy to want an iced cold cocktail, such as a beer or seltzer. Unfortunately, if you are pregnant, cocktails are a no-go. Even zero alcohol beer has been warned against, given that it does have around .03 to .05% alcohol. So, what does one do to still enjoy beverages while pregnant? The first is the easiest option, and that is ordering a virgin version of your favorite cocktail. A pina colada or daiquiri can still be enjoyable sans alcohol. If you are at home and want something yummy, try a Tropical Pineapple Fizz.

All you need is:
- 1 cup pineapple juice
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1/4 cup pomegranate juice
- Lime wedges
- Ice cubes
Mix the juices and water in a shaker, pour it over ice, and add the lime wedges. Put a little umbrella in for extra jazz. Along with the Fizz, there is also the Berry Blast, which uses cranberry juice. That is extremely beneficial in pregnancy as it can help ward off UTIs, which do happen a lot while expecting. Here is what you will need:
- 1 cup cranberry juice
- 1/2 cup soda water
- 1/2 cup grape juice
- Fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries)
- Ice cubes
Proceed to mix all the juices and soda water in a shaker, pour over ice, and add the berries to your liking.

Making the perfect virgin cocktails can happen at home. If you are craving a pina colada, here’s what you will need:
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice
- Splash of fresh lime juice
- Ice cubes
There have been some warnings regarding pineapple in pregnancy, especially toward the end. However, in moderation, it has been deemed just fine.
One More For The Road
The final one of the pregnancy-friendly “cocktails” is the Ginger Lemon Fizz. Ginger is known to help with morning sickness, so this could be tasty and beneficial:
- 1 cup ginger ale
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
- Fresh mint leaves
- Ice cubes
Again, mix together and garnish with the leaves. Do not forget most of these juices and sodas can come in diet or sugar-free options, so feel free to sub.
