Counting On alum Jill Dillard made headlines after writing a book against the questionable teachings of the IBLP. Her decision worries some fans as it puts her relationship with Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar in question once again. It also appears that the 32-year-old mother has something to say about the courtship practice in the family. Recently, the former reality TV personality shared a cryptic clip that seems to shade the early marriages of the Duggars.
Counting On: Early Weddings Have Happened Before
There have been several Duggars who got married at a young age. However, the practice actually goes way back to their parents. Former Counting On stars Michelle and Jim Bob tied the knot when they were 17 and 19, respectively. They went on to have 19 children, which led to their popular reality TV show. Justin and Claire, who were 18 and 19 when they walked down the aisle, are currently the second record holders. The Duggar parents received criticism for allowing such procedures in their family, and it seems that Jill still has something to say about it.
Jill Shading Young Marriages In The Family?
Jill Dillard recently took to social media to share a clip from an old movie about a woman rushing her man to marry her. It may look like a simple scene at first, but the actress later mentioned that even her niece is starting to get married and her biological clock is ticking. The Counting On alum didn’t exactly mention any of her relatives in the clip. Though it’s quite known that “early marriage” has been happening in the family for a long time. At this point, there are currently no Duggar courtships. But there are speculations that 22-year-old James might be the next to look for his significant other.
Counting On: Nobody Has Said A Word About Jill Dillard’s Book
Jill has been keeping her fans in touch about her upcoming book, Counting The Cost. A few days ago, the mother-of-three shared that they’re recording for the audiobook version. However, it’s noticeable how nobody from the supersized family has acknowledged the title despite their recent get-togethers with the fourth Duggar child.
Jill Dillard previously revealed that she and her parents have been working on their relationship. Some fans are also hoping things will continue to get better between them despite the book’s release on September 12, 2023.
