Halloween Ends is finally here which means the trilogy will officially conclude. The biggest question diehard fans have is whether or not Michael Myers will finally die. He somehow has managed to outlast being burned alive, slashed, sliced, and beaten. Yet, with this being the final film, is this truly the end of Michael? Is the Boogeyman gone for good? Read on to find out some spoilers and whether or not it is a movie worth seeing.
Halloween Ends Is A Twisted Psychological Thriller
The film picks up a year after Halloween Kills ended, in 2019. It starts with Corey Cambell who usually mows lawns but is a last minute choice for a baby-sitter. He shows up to baby-sit Jeremy who has struggled with the events of Michael Myers since the previous Halloween. He hears voices and bedtime is a nightmare. His parents head off to a Halloween party and Jeremy and Corey are just hanging out. Yet, Jeremy proves to be too much to handle and ends up pranking Corey. This ends up leading to Corey accidentally killing the little boy and though he gets off, his life is never the same.
Three years later, he is bullied and harassed by the locals and the only person who connects with him is Laurie Strode. She knows what it is like to be ostracized in her own town for decades. Now, she has a nice home with her granddaughter, Allyson and is writing a novel. She ends up introducing Allyson to Corey, thinking they could be good for each other. However, after a chance meeting with Michael, Corey is never the same. Evil has inhabited him but it draws Allyson closer.
Michael and Corey go on a killing spree with it all culminating at Laurie’s home. Will this really be the end of Michael? What will happen to Corey? More so, can Allyson finally realize that Corey is no good for her before it is too late and she makes a major mistake? All of this and more will be answered in the final film.
Worth It?
For fans who have seen the Halloween films, Halloween Ends is a necessary watch. However, it is much more of a psychological thriller than one would anticipate. The way that Michael inhabits Corey’s body is mind-blowing. So is the acting by Rohan Campbell in the role of Corey. The way he goes from troubled youth to serial killer is incredible. Jamie Lee Curtis is always impeccable and the way they wrapped up the film was perfect. Some may not agree but this horror fans thinks that is what was great about it. So far, it has gotten a 39% on Rotten Tomatoes and CinemaScore gave it a C+.
For those interested, Halloween Ends is currently in theaters and streaming on Peacock.
