Beloved Soap Finds Haven on Peacock Streaming
Days of Our Lives has been keeping viewers entertained for 56 seasons of soapy goodness. One of just four remaining soap operas, DOOL’s possible cancellation is always a concern. However, NBC has renewed the sudser through at least season 58.
Now that the soap is on solid ground, the showrunners are going Beyond Salem.
Days of Our Lives Spin-Off Announcement
In a shocking twist, news broke on Monday, July 26, that a Days of Our Lives spin-off is coming to Peacock soon. The news comes amid a long on-screen break due to the Olympics. TVLine was the first to report the surprising development.
Some fans won’t be happy. It seems Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem will be streaming-only. However, it will feature several beloved characters of the daytime drama. Who will be appearing on the DOOL spin-off?
Real Housewives Star Reprises Iconic DOOL Character
Lisa Rinna was a familiar face to many viewers when she joined Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The actress played Billie Reed for many years. In fact, she originated the role in 1992. She was paired with Bo Brady (Peter Reckell) after his beloved wife Hope (Kristian Alfonso) “died.”
Of course, Hope wasn’t really dead, leading Bo to ping-pong between Hope and Billie for years. Lisa Rinna left the role in 1995. Krista Allen and Julie Pinson played the role in the years after Rinna’s departure. However, Lisa Rinna returned to Salem in 2012 and again in 2018.
The iconic actress will once again return to Days of Our Lives. However, the action goes Beyond Salem for the Peacock Original. A blurb about the spin-off reveals that various characters find themselves entangled in a jewelry heist. Deidre Hall (Marlena), Drake Hogestyn (John) and James Reynolds (Abe) will all be involved in the stolen jewels storyline.
Victoria Konefal (Ciara) Robert Scott Wilson (Ben), Billy Flynn (Chad), Lamon Archey (Eli) and Sal Stowers (Lani) will also appear in the spin-off. Per TVLine, Peacock teases other “beloved characters” will pop up in Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem.
How to Watch Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem
The upcoming spin-off is different from traditional soap operas. Rather than new daily episodes, Beyond Salem is a limited-series with just five episodes total. The DOOL spin-off will air exclusively on Peacock TV streaming service. The service has multiple pay tiers. It’s unclear if Beyond Salem will be free to watch or if a paid tier will be required.
Peacock has yet to announce an airdate, but their official Instagram announcement teases Beyond Salem is “streaming soon.”

Interestingly, Lisa Rinna’s RHOBH co-star, Lisa Vanderpump, headlines her own show on Peacock, too. Vanderpump Dogs tells the stories of Lisa Vanderpump’s dog rescue of the same name.
