The Los Angeles Lakers are currently looking to add more players as the NBA trade deadline approaches. Apparently, fans think that the Lakers’ roster is not enough to match with the stars-studded Brooklyn Nets. Due to this, the Lakers started to look for more veteran players as teams start preparing for the playoffs. According to reports, the Lakers are amongst the teams that are planning to make an offer to sign Indiana Pacers center Myles Turner.
NBA: The Lakers Are Looking Forward To Signing Myles Turner
Reports claim that the Los Angels Lakers are trying to sign Myles Turner from the Indiana Pacers. However, several teams are also looking forward to signing the veteran center, such as the Los Angels Clippers, Charlotte Hornets, and New Orleans Pelicans.
Apparently, the Pacers have been open to trade Turner since the season started. At one point, the team offered Turner for Gordon Hayward from the Boston Celtics. However, Hayward ended up signing with the Charlotte Hornets.
Fans believe that Turner is going to be a great addition to the Lakers. Apparently, the Lakers need more centers to help LeBron James and Anthony Davis inside the paint. Turner is also a good all-around scorer. He’s currently averaging 13.2 points per game as well as 6.6 rebounds per game.
Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins Won’t Be Surprised If Another Superstar Joins The Lakers
Former NBA stars Paul Pierce and Kendrick Perkins admit that they won’t be surprised if another superstar joins the Los Angeles Lakers. The star they’re talking about is no other the Stephen Curry. Apparently, the two saw the potential of the Curry and LeBron James pairing up during the All-Star break. “We saw all the joy. We saw the laughter in the All-Star Game between him and LeBron James, chest-bumping and high-fiving”, Perkins said. “Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised either,” Pierce added.
Fans also agreed to the possibility of the Curry-James duo. Since the All-Star game, fans have been posting screenshots of Curry and James enjoying their time together. James himself even said that he loved playing with Curry. In a social media post, James said, “Finally got to share the floor with @StephenCurry30! Well overdue and I loved every single second!!”
NBA: Lakers Are Still Dominating Despite Being Short-Handed
Despite the absence of Anthony Davis, the Los Angeles Lakers are still putting on a show in the second half of the season. The Lakers recently won their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. LeBron James added another triple-double in his career with 25 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists in 31 minutes of playing. Montrezl Harrell has been a huge help as well during Davis’s absence. He scored 25 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. The Lakers defeated the Timberwolves with a score of 137-121.
The Los Angeles Lakers will face the Charlotte Hornets on March 19, 2021.
