Justin Duggar & Claire Spivey tied the knot during the pandemic. This has been a concern for some of the family’s fans because they are worried about the spread of the coronavirus. But, throughout the coronavirus, the Duggars have continued having large gatherings. So, it shouldn’t necessarily come as a surprise that they didn’t postpone the wedding due to the pandemic. Many weddings have been impacted by the pandemic, but the Duggar and Spivey families weren’t going to let that happen.
On social media, Hilary Spivey, Claire’s mom, shared a few posts featuring photos from the wedding. In the photos that have been shared so far, no one is wearing a mask. Fans are wondering how the family got away with this during the pandemic.
In one photo, the barista at the coffee bar is wearing a mask, but it’s likely she was hired and is required by her company to wear a mask. No one else in the photo is wearing a mask.
In another photo, the bridal party is getting ready. The bridesmaids are wearing mint green dresses. In the photo, no masks can be seen on Claire Spivey or anyone else.
Fans ask Hilary, mom of Claire Spivey, about masks at wedding
In the comments sections of Hilary’s latest photos from the wedding, fans are asking about the lack of masks. Hilary responded to a fan who was asking about the mask mandates in Texas. She writes, “I know it was crazy. We were thankful to find a place. They were not 100% capacity either. It was a small family wedding. ☺️”
When another fan asked about masks being required, Hilary said they aren’t “in that county.” So, based on Hilary’s comments, it doesn’t sound like the family was necessarily breaking any of the guidelines set by that county in Texas.
Fans still argue that the family needs to be more cautious amid the pandemic. It’s unclear who all was at the wedding, but Joe and Kendra Duggar may have been there. The pair welcomed their third daughter, Brooklyn Praise, to the world right before the wedding. So, fans are naturally concerned about the small children whose health may be at risk as a result of an un-masked wedding.
