Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shocked Kate Middleton on her 39th birthday. As Royal fans know, their relationship has been strained. Last year, Meghan and Harry shocked everyone when they announced they planned to step down from their senior Royal duties. Even Harry and William were allegedly on the outs because of it.

Although they couldn’t be together for Christmas, Meghan and Harry still exchanged gifts with William and Kate. And now it appears that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex help celebrate Kate’s birthday. They sent her a sweet surprise for her 39th birthday on Saturday, January 9. Read on to learn more.

About Meghan and Harry’s birthday surprise

Kate Middleton had a “low-key” celebration with Prince William and their three children, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2. An insider revealed in the new issue of Us Weekly that Prince Harry and Meghan sent her a surprise birthday gift. It came as a shock to the Duchess of Cambridge. She couldn’t believe the cards and gifts she received from her brother-in-law and the Suits alum.

“It was a nice surprise,” the source told Us Weekly. “Kate wasn’t expecting anything from the couple.”

Kate also received plenty of presents from her husband. He showered her with lavish gifts, such as diamonds and sapphire earrings, “which she loves.” But that’s not all. The family got together to have a peaceful day amid the UK’s latest lockdown. So, they decided to bake a “huge caramel and vanilla cake with 39 candles,” and her children gave her a bouquet of flowers.

Harry and Meghan’s surprise birthday gift comes after the couple plan to travel across the pond this year for several events. They’re expected to attend the queen’s 95th birthday in April and Prince Philip’s 100th birthday in June. William and Harry had a “very real, very ugly” fallout last year. They are reportedly mending their relationship and have a long way to go before their bond is formed again. However, they reconnected over video calls during the holidays.

Kate Middleton continues to embrace life in lockdown

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently residing at Anmer Hall. The Norfolk residence is their go-to home during their children’s school holidays, Christmastime, and quiet time away from London. The sprawling country estate provides Prince William and Kate Middleton with plenty of privacy, where they can enjoy the great outdoors with their children.

There, Kate has been making fitness a priority in 2021. Anmer Hall has its own swimming pool and tennis court. The Duchess has been busy practicing her serve. When she’s not playing sports, she often takes nature walks with William.

In the ITV documentary Prince William: A Planet For Us All, the Duke said that their kids love being outside.

“Seeing my children, seeing the passion in their eyes and the love for being outdoors… They find a bug or they love watching how bees are forming the honey,” William said. “George, particularly, if he’s not outdoors he’s quite like a caged animal. He needs to get outside.”

William also revealed that their children helped with lambing on the farm in February 2020. As for Kate, she loves baking for her children. She looks forward to celebrating Prince Louis’ third and Princess Charlotte’s fourth birthday this spring. William and George will celebrate their big days in the summertime.
