Ivanka Trump and Karlie Kloss are reportedly feuding. The Victoria’s Secret alum doesn’t mention her connection to the Trump family. For those who don’t know, Karlie’s husband is Joshua Kushner, who is Jared’s younger brother. Ivanka Trump is married to Jared Kushner.
On Wednesday, January 6, Karlie claimed she tried to persuade her sister-in-law to accept the results of the 2020 presidential election. President Donald Trump refuses to concede President-elect Joe Biden’s victory. He claims that he won by a “landslide” and there is election fraud, both of which is untrue.
Now, Karlie finds herself in an awkward situation. Having relatives with different political beliefs can cause complications, even when you’re rich.
Karlie Kloss tried to convince her in-laws
The Project Runway host condemned the violent protests that took place at the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday. Karlie Kloss was just one of the many celebrities who took to Twitter to speak out on what was happening.
“Accepting the results of a legitimate democratic election is patriotic,” Karlie wrote. “Refusing to do so and inciting violence is anti-American.”
Some fans think it was a response to Ivanka’s now-deleted tweet. Donald Trump’s daughter received backlash for a deleted tweet calling the violent mob “American Patriots.”
“Any security breach or disrespect to our law enforcement is unacceptable,” Ivanka wrote before removing the tweet. “The violence must stop immediately. Please be careful.”

Meanwhile, a follower told Karlie that she should share her message with her family. She claims she already had that conversation with them and failed.

Despite her Trump ties, she’s a registered Democrat. Before the 2020 election in November, the 28-year-old model took to Instagram to show her support for Joe Biden. Karlie posted a photo of herself holding a mail-in ballot and wearing a face mask that read “Biden Harris.” On November 7, the same day when many media outlets projected the winner was Biden, she shared a photo of the president-elect and the vice president-elect hugging.
Ivanka Trump feels “surprised and hurt” by Karlie’s tweets
Page Six reported that Ivanka Trump was left “surprised and hurt” by her sister-in-law’s tweets. Sources told the outlet that the runway model hasn’t had a “close relationship” with Trump’s daughter for “quite some time.” However, other insiders claim a different story.
“The tweet was brought to Ivanka’s attention and she was mostly surprised because they’re so close and talk on a regular basis, but never really about politics,” the insider said. “Karlie likes to position herself publicly as an activist, yet, she’s never approached Ivanka on any of the issues [the model has] championed like paid maternal leave, women in STEM, and criminal justice reform.”
However, Karlie’s claim to discuss her politics with her family is “simply not true.” She does not like to discuss such topics behind closed doors. Regardless, she’s very close to Ivanka and enjoys their friendship. A source close to Ivanka and Jared said that Ivanka is “open to hearing from Karlie about her views.”
