Reports have recently surfaced that reveal Johhny Depp tried to have Amber Heard fired from her role in Aquaman after their initial split.
Johnny Depp Calls In a Family Favor
Johnny Depp’s spiteful side was revealed recently as reports are surfacing regarding attempts to have Amber Heard fired from her role in Aquaman after they split a few years ago.
According to court documents, the actor attempted to use the power of nepotism to get his way. Depp contacted his sister, Hollywood producer, Christi Dembrowski who had a great deal of pull with Warner Brothers at the time. People Magazine reports that Depp wrote Dembrowski a letter that said “I want her replaced on the WB film.”
Court documents obtained by The Hollywood Reporter reveal Depp admitted in open court that he did indeed contact his sister and that ‘the WB film’ in question was the 2018 Aquaman, starring Heard and Jason Momoa.
Depp Calls in the Social Media Trolls
After his attempt to get his ex-wife booted from her role in Aquaman failed, fans decided to help take up his cause. According to CBR , back in November of 2020, some of Johnny Depp’s fans started a petition on Change.org It claimsthat Heard is actually the abuser in the relationship. The petition’s intention is for Warner Brothers Media And DC Entertainment cut ties with the actress. The ‘document’ currently stands at more than 1.5 million signatures.
Amber Heard Goads Depp Through the Media
Shortly after Depp’s statement, Amber Heard sat down with Entertainment Weekly to mow down the ferociously circulating rumors that her character would be recast for the upcoming Aquaman sequel.
Amber told EW that the rumors and the hate campaigns on social media would not determine the casting on the film. She assured fans that she would be reprising her role in the latest film. She also took the opportunity to take a jab at Johnny Depp. Heard insinuates that internet slander and hate campaigns have little effect on casting. She says that they hold ‘no basis in reality.’

Not the Industry Powerhouse He Once Was
The famous actor has made multiple attempts to get Heard fired from the Aquaman franchise. Sadly for him, so far his attempts have been futile and unsuccessful at best. Many feel that Depp is making himself look worse by being petty. He has seemingly attempted to use every bit of pull he has to make things hard for her.
Unfortunately for him – it doesn’t seem that he has the same industry clout he once had. If anything – it seems that he has created more buzz for her and strengthened Warner Brothers’ confidence in Heard’s contract.
