President Trump is often trending on Twitter, but rarely for a good reason. But a recent study about social media trends in the U.K. would likely get his approval. It turns out that the President of the U.S. is a hot commodity for internet users across the pond.
Donald Trump Leads This Niche Internet Search in the U.K.
There’s something for everyone! Nothing could be truer when it comes to the internet. Many people worldwide use the internet to search for images of their favorite celebrities. Dating site Datingroo conducted the study about the internet habits of people in the U.K. A recent study shows that Donald Trump gets the top spot in searches for male celebrities aged 60 or older.
Surprisingly, people in the United Kingdom are interested in seeing photos of the U.S. President in the buff. In fact, he has thousands more search queries than Brit Simon Cowell!
For female celebrities, Helen Mirren received the most amount of searches for racy photos.
GQ’s 2016 Poll Describe Trump as a “Ferrari” & a “Lion”
In 2016, GQ magazine conducted a poll among female Trump voters. The so-called “Walmart moms” of Pittsburgh were asked to compare Donald Trump to a car. “Ferrari,” Porsche” and “muscle car” were just a few of the cars mentioned by pollsters.
The women were also asked to compare Trump to an animal. That request earned such answers as “bulldog” and a “lion.”
The GQ piece notes that the “Walmart moms” praised Trump for speaking his mind and standing his ground.
Trump ultimately won the election in 2016, meaning it wasn’t just women in Pittsburg who viewed him favorably.
New York Times Once Compared Him to Robert Redford
Donald Trump is no stranger to celebrity. Nor is he a stranger to women fawning over him. Back in the 70’s, he landed on the cover of newspapers. In 1973, the future President was lauded on the front page of the New York Times. While Trump isn’t a fan of the “failing” paper now, the 1973 profile was complimentary.
In fact, Times writer Judy Klemesrud described him as “tall, lean and blond, with dazzling white teeth, and he looks ever so much like Robert Redford.”
The piece further fangirled over the mogul riding “around town in a chauffeured silver Cadillac with his initials, DJT, on the plates.”
Judy Klemesrud also noted that at the time the playboy “dates slinky fashion models.” It seems some things never change.
Are you surprised that Trump had the most image search queries in the U.K.? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
