Actress Holly Robinson Peete is speaking out about Donald Trump’s behavior on Celebrity Apprentice. The outgoing President hosted the NBC reality show from 2008 to 2015. Once he decided to run for President, he stepped down and Arnold Schwarzenegger took over until the show was canceled in 2017.
Holly Robinson Peete has had a long career in Hollywood, including the sitcom Hanging With Mr. Cooper and co-host of The Talk. She also competed on Season 3 of Celebrity Apprentice. In a recent interview, the actress reveals her experience involving the rumors that Donald Trump freely dropped the “N-word” during filming.
Rumors of Donald Trump’s Offensive Language Persist
Back in 2016 when Donald Trump was gearing up to run for President, the rumor mill also geared up. Comedian and actor Tom Arnold first made the bombshell allegation of Trump’s habit of using the “N-word.” Arnold also claimed there was an audiotape of Trump using the slur that Celebrity Apprentice producer Mark Burnett refused to release.
Tom Arnold alleges that Trump can be heard using inflammatory racial language in the audiotape. He even went on a quest to release the tape to no avail. With Donald Trump’s presidency rife with scandals, the offensive language allegations fell to the wayside.
But now that he has seemingly lost the election to President-Elect Biden, the rumors are in high gear again.
Tom Arnold also claims that Donald Trump referred to his son Eric as the “R-word.” The ex-husband of Roseanne Barr never appeared on the NBC competition, but claims he heard the audiotapes. Among the alleged offensive things Donald Trump said included calling Deaf actress Marlee Matlin the “R-word” as well.
President Trump Often Declares Himself ‘The Least Racist Person’
Donald Trump – and some of the staffers on Celebrity Apprentice – denied the allegations. However, as President, the New York tycoon has faced years of accusations of racism. In fact, even before he was President, he took out a full-page ad in a New York City paper demanding the “Central Park Five” face execution for their alleged crime. They were later all exonerated.
In a recent Presidential debate, Trump went so far as declaring himself the “least racist person in the room.”
Holly Robinson Peete Believes the Celebrity Apprentice Host Did Call Her the “N-Word”
During Season 3 of Celebrity Apprentice, Holly Robinson Peete made it all the way to the final two. Her last competitor was Poison singer Bret Michaels. On Tuesday, Peete was a guest on SiriusXM Urban View’s The Karen Hunter Show.
She said that during her time on the show, she thought Trump was “piggish and bullish” but not as much as he is now. At the end of the season finale, Bret Michaels was chosen as the winner. It wasn’t until afterward that Peete heard about what went down between Trump and the producers while deciding the winner.
Peete seemed to confirm a rumor from someone who worked on the show. Comedian Noel Casler tweeted in 2019 that Trump exhibited racist behavior toward Holly Robinson Peete. In the tweet, he alleges that Trump said, “They want me to choose the [N-word]” about producers pressuring him to choose Peete.
Do you know who Holly Robinson Peete is? I worked on Season 8 of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ When the producers informed Trump she was the obvious winner he turned to his asst. and said ‘They want me to chose the n*gger’ He picked a white man (Brett Michaels) instead. He is racist. pic.twitter.com/82NeOIQy8p

On the SiriusXM show, Peete recounted a similar story she heard from Celebrity Apprentice producers back then. The actress admits that she “wasn’t in earshot,” per The Daily Beast. However, she did see the producers and Trump speaking very “animated” about choosing the winner. She heard from producers that Trump said, “They want the [N-word] to win.”
While she didn’t hear it herself, she said, “I firmly believe he probably uses that language all the time.” Peete reveals that she’s kept quiet all these years because “people have accepted the [vile] things that [Trump] said.”
