Whitney Way Thore’s Public Break-Up
My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans were beyond happy for Whitney Way Thore when her long-time boyfriend, Chase Severino, finally proposed. The romantic engagement happened during a trip to Paris, France.
But when the couple got back to the States, things went awry. The pandemic struck, making it impossible for them to reunite. In May, Whitney Way Thore made the shocking announcement that the engagement was over. Come to find out, her fiance had an affair and then a baby with another woman.
The MBFFL star promptly ended her engagement, but the cameras were still rolling. The break-up will replay during Season 8 of the TLC show. The season premiere kicked off on Tuesday, November 10.

Fans Think The MBFFL Star Should Marry BFF Buddy
Whitney Way Thore credits one person with helping her through the break-up. Her best friend, Buddy Bell. In fact, she took to her Instagram after the premiere to pay tribute to her close friend. She wrote an “appreciation post” for her “non-romantic heterosexual male life partner.”
Some fans took Whitney to task for taking advantage of his friendship. One follower even called the MBFFL star out for making the post right after he went IG official with his girlfriend.
But other fans think Whitney and Buddy are meant to be together. Many fans flooded the comments with encouragement for Whitney and Buddy to get married.
Is Whitney Way Thore Still Single?
Whitney Way Thore may have a man in her life, but it seems he really is just a friend. As the above-mentioned fan noted, Buddy Bell has a girlfriend.
While she appears to be single, she is staying positive. Per PEOPLE, she spoke out in October about fans harassing her ex-fiance. She told fans that she is “just trying to move on” and their anti-Chase comments weren’t helping.
