Wrestlemania is just over a week away as the superstars of WWE Smackdown move forward to the biggest event of the year. Daniel Bryan and Jey Uso faced off in a street fight in the main event. An 8-Man Tag team match took place, as well as Logan Paul appearing to get a look at Sami Zayn’s conspiracy theory trailer.
Every match on WWE Smackdown will include highlights, what the storyline progression is, and a final analysis. Each match will be given a star rating and be ranked from worst to best.
Matches Ranked from Worst to Best
4) Natalya d. Shayna Baszler
Highlights: Natalya maneuvers herself in a position to lock in the sharpshooter earlier on before Shayna Baszler awkwardly counters the move. Baszler attempts a sleeper but Natalya finds a way to break free and lock in a roll-up for the win.

Storyline Progression: Similiar to the men’s tag team title situation, the women’s side is crowded with the champions holding on. After the match, Nia Jax and Tamina head to the ring as Jax and Baszler force Natalya and Tamina out of the right. The Riott Squad, Mandy Rose, and Dana Brooke all head to the ring to brawl.
Final Analysis: Not much to see here as it was an awkward quick match that leads to an uninteresting story. Take a Pass. DUD
Bianca’s warmup
3) Bianca Belair d. Carmella
Highlights: Carmella attacks Bianca Belair before the match as they fight to the outside before the commercial. Back from the break and Carmella continues to work over Belair, with a knee strike in the corner. Carmella attempted a charge into the corner but she eats a stiff closeline. Blair teases a hair whip before awkwardly missing a springboard standing moonsault allowing Carmella to get a two-count. Belair makes a quick comeback and finishes off Carmella with the Kiss of Death.

Storyline Progression: Bianca Belair is prepping for her title match against Sasha Banks next week at Wrestlemania. Carmelo is looking to throw a wrench in those plans and position herself better in the women’s division. After the match, Banks comes to the ring to attack Belair but they stand face to face instead.
Final Analysis: Bianca Beliar gets a predictable win leading into Wrestlemania. There’s a big push to get the Smackdown women’s title match to main event the show but I just don’t see it. While Banks is a good wrestler, Bianca’s promos are rough stuff, and her in-ring work leaves much to be desired. Take a Pass. *
WWE Smackdown: 8-man tag team action
2) Dolph Ziggler, Robert Roode and Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins), Rey and Dominik Mysterio
Highlights: Dolph Ziggler and Dominik start the match as the younger Mysterio gets the advantage with a quick DDT before the action spills to the outside before the commercial. Back from the break and Ziggler is working over Rey Misterio. Mysterio is able to break free and make the hot tag to Angelo Dawkins who cleans house. Otis is able to finish off Montez Ford with a middle rope splash.

Storyline Progression: Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode have held onto the tag team titles for some time despite push back from various teams on WWE Smackdown. As Wrestlemania approaches, the champions were tested in an 8-man tag team match.
Final Analysis: Solid 8-man tag match but basically the same as we’ve seen in recent weeks. Thankfully Wrestlemania is next week where we can put a bow on this story. Skim It. **3/4
WWE Smackdown: Main Event
1) Daniel Bryan d. Jey Uso
Highlights: Edge joins the commentary booth before the match. Daniel Bryan goes after Jey Uso right as the bell rings before the brawl to the outside. Uso gets the better of Bryan, slamming him into the barricade. Bryan breaks free and attempts a suicide dive but gets smashed in the head with a steel chair. Uso sets a chair on Bryan’s leg but misses a dive. Uso unloads with the chair onto Uso before Roman Reigns’ music hits who comes to the ring to get a better look before the commercial.

Back from the break and Daniel Bryan hits a running knee in the corner on Jey Uso. Bryan goes for it a second time but is caught with a superkick. Uso grabs a chain from under the ring and works over Bryan in the middle of the ring before hitting a frog splash for a near fall. Uso attempts a suplex from the steps to the floor but it’s reversed by Bryan. Back inside and Bryan connects with a dropkick and stiff Yes Kicks. Bryan uses the chain on Uso before locking in the Yes Lock for the win.

Storyline Progression: Daniel Bryan has officially been placed into the triple threat match for the Universal Title at Wrestlemania. In preparation, Bryan was tested in a street fight in the main event of Friday Night Smackdown. After picking up the win, Bryan hits Edge with a running knee before ramming his face into the ring post. On the entrance ramp, Bryan takes out Reigns with a running knee before putting in the Yes Lock.
Final Analysis: Very good main event as Daniel Bryan gains momentum leading into Wrestlemania. It’ll be interesting to see how they close out the go-home show next week, but the triple threat match has been build well. Worth a Watch. ***3/4
