Kids’ meals at a chain restaurant tend to be cheaper than regular entrees. Yet, is it worth it to get a kids’ meal even as an adult? More so, what is the difference in portion size, and is it a lot or essentially the same? Keep reading for more details on how to eat the best kids’ meals and not breaking the bank.

The Best Restaurant Kid Meals On A Budget

Going out to dinner can be very expensive and not feasible for everyone. There are often deals, but they can still cost a pretty penny. Plus, sometimes one would want to grab and go meal to bring home, and relax with, and they do not want fast food. Rather, they would like something good from a chain restaurant, but the average cost of an entree can vary from $15 to $50. So, is there a better option to have great food on a budget? There sure is.

Ordering off the kids’ menu can be even better than a regular entree, and it has been proven that the portions are just as decent. For example, ordering Pepper Pals Cheeseburger Bites at Chili’s is essentially getting two sliders. Then, it comes with a side of French fries, as well as a drink. Yet, there are other side options such as mashed potatoes and salad. However, if that is not enough food, a second side for an additional dollar. Then, if you are a rewards member, you can get chips and salsa. The total for all of this is under $10.

Then, there is Longhorn Steakhouse, a restaurant known for its steaks. Now, the kids’ menu offers a 6-ounce sirloin steak, but so does the regular menu. What is the big difference? They are seemingly the same size portions, so why not order the less expensive option? For a regular entree that comes with a side and a side salad, it is $16.79. However, the kids’ sirloin is only $9.99, and it comes with a side and a drink. It’s almost the same amount of food minus the side salad, but one can be added for under $5. That still makes the total less than the entrĂ©e.

In The End…

Ultimately, if you are willing to order from the kids’ menu, you can have incredible restaurant food for half the price. Chili’s has more than sliders, too, on the kids’ menu. They have chicken tenders, quesadillas, and grilled chicken. The portions, especially for takeout, are relatively the same, and adding on an item or two does not break the bank. There is no shame in getting quality meals on a budget. In fact, it is quite admirable.
