NWA Powerrr 4/20: Rating and Ranking Every Match

Robby Steven

Following a week of the mostly recap show in the form of NWA Powerrr Surge, NWA Powerrr returned with four matches. Kamille went one on one with Jennacide. The NWA World Tag Team Champions faced a surprise, as well as a triple threat match taking place. A match between Nick Aldis and Jordan Clearwater was ruled a no-contest as before the match Trevor Murdoch was beaten down by Strickly Business.

Every match on NWA Powerrr will include highlights, what the storyline progression is, and a final analysis. Each match will be given a star rating and be ranked from worst to best.

Matches Ranked from Worst to Best

Non-Title Match: Aron Stevens & Kratos vs. Sal Rinauro & Mystery Partner (Tim Storm)
Highlights: Sal Rinauro’s partner isn’t revealed as the bells rings. Aron Stevens gets the better of Rinauro in a chain wrestling sequence. Kratos tags in and after a few right hands, Rinauro is thrown across the ring by a Kratos shoulder block. Kratos hits a gut-wrench suplex and a vertical suplex before Danny Deals makes his way to ringside. Outside the ring, Kratos beats down Deals before heading back inside to continue the attack on Rinauro. Tim Storm then leaves the commentary as Stevens joins in to appeal to Kratos to stop the beatdown. Kratos misses a right hand at his own partner and eats a punch from Storm as Rinauro gets the roll-up win.

Storyline Progression: Aron Stevens and Kratos might be the NWA World Tag Team Champion, but not all has been right in recent weeks. With tension high, Stevens and Kratos were put to the test on NWA Powerrr.

Final Analysis: This was essentially a squash so you can Take a Pass on the match. From a story standpoint, you can Skim It. *

NWA Powerrr: #1 Contender for the TV Title

2) Tyrus d. Matt Cross & Marshe Rockett
Highlights: Matt Cross and Marshe Rockett target Tyrus earlier on but the big quickly fights back. Tyrus hits an exploder suplex on Rockett before biting Cross in the face. Rockett gets Tyrus to a knee as Cross connects with a running knee. Tyrus is knocked to the outside as Cross leaps off the top rope but is hit with a closeline from Rockett. Cross goes back up top and but Rockett catches him again, this time in a powerslam. Cross makes a comeback before connecting with a 450 splash on Rockett. Tyrus breaks up the count and makes the pin for himself to earn a shot at the TV Title.

Storyline Progression: With Austin Idol by his side, Tyrus has been a thorn in the side of The Pope in an attempt to challenge for his TV Title. Matt Cross and Marshe Rockett have been impressive in the ring but were looking to get their names in the win column. Prior to the match, The Pope spoke at ringside and went face to face with Tyrus and said he needed to prove himself to get a title shot.

Final Analysis: Matt Cross is a fun wrestler who stands out on NWA Powerrr, with Rockett also being a solid hand. Unfortunately, Tyrus is slow and drags down every match he is in. Take a Pass. *

Women’s action

1) Kamille d. Jennacide
Highlights: Both women clash to start as they work into a test of strength. Kamille gets the better of the exchange before Jennacide counters with a bodyslam. Kamille bounces back with a bodyslam of her before a strike exchange takes place in the middle of the ring. Jennacide is whipped into the corner as Kamille hits an avalanche splash. Jennacide makes her own comeback with an avalanche splash and a boot to the face in the corner. Kamille attempts a superplex but is tossed off resulting in a spear that gets a two-count on Jennacide. A second spear by Kamille finishes it. After the match, Melina checks on Jennacide but is hit with a spear by Kamille who then stares down Thunder Rosa on the outside.

Storyline Progression: After a big win over Thunder Rosa at the latest PPV, Kamille was back in action on NWA Powerrr to continue her impressive streak. Jennacide was recently seen in tag action as she attempted to pull off the upset.

Final Analysis: Another theme for NWA Powerrr tonight is that it seems like this was at the end of their set of tapings. Everyone seems tired and sluggish, including the makeshift crowd. The effort might be there, but they all seem exhausted and that was evident once again. Take a Pass. *1/2
