WWE 205 Live showcases the best cruiserweight action in the WWE Universe. Two big matches are on tap tonight, including Ashante “Thee” Adonis looking to get the best of Ariya Daivari. In the main event, Jake Atlas challengers Tony Nese.

Every match on WWE 205 Live will include highlights, what the storyline progression is, and a final analysis. Each match will be given a star rating and be ranked from worst to best.

Matches Ranked from Worst to Best

2) Ashante “Thee” Adonis d. Ariya Daivari
Highlights: Ariya Daivari jumps to the advantage quickly using a ground attack on Ashante “Thee” Adonis. Adonis makes a comeback, working over the arm of Daivari before taking the veteran into the corner. Daivari sidesteps charge from Adonis who runs into the corner before getting put down with a swinging neckbreaker. Adonis makes another comeback but gets crotched up top before falling to the match. A second attempt from the top by Adonis connects as a crossbody gets a two-count. Daivari then hits a top rope splash of his own but takes too long to make the cover. Adonis pulls off a quick roll-up for the upset.

Storyline Progression: Ashante “Thee” Adonis continues to make a name for himself on the purple brand. Getting a win over a veteran like Ariya Daivari was an impressive victory.

Final Analysis: Solid match to kick off WWE 205 Live. It wasn’t too flashy but did its job to get Ashante “Thee” Adonis a win over a quality opponent. Skim It. **1/2

WWE 205 Live: Main Event

1) Jake Atlas d. Tony Nese
Highlights: Chain wrestling to start as Tony Nese gets the best of Jake Atlas with a leg lock on the mat. Atlas is able to gain control, working on the arm of Nese with a variety of holding, including digging in on a deep arm drag. Nese gets back to his feet and connects with an arm closeline over the top rope. The action continues inside with Nese working over Atlas’ back before rolling him back into the ring. Atlas makes several comebacks but gets cut off repeatedly by Nese who brings the action back to a ground attack. Atlas finally makes a successful comeback, connecting on a brainbuster. After a brief attack by Nese, Atlas hits a rolling German suplex and then ends it after a toprope cartwheel DDT.

Storyline Progression: In recent weeks, Tony Nese has flexed towards the younger wrestlers on the WWE 205 Live roster. While Nese claims to be “The Premier Athlete” on the roster, it was Jake Atlast who had other ideas in the main event.
