Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine signed off on a suspension of alcohol sales. The news came the day before Thanksgiving. And, many Pennsylvanians and others slammed the ban. While it only applies to a single night, fears of further draconian measures raise the ire of people.
Pennsylvania Gov Wolf agrees with Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine
We reported that reality TV star Mariah Brown wants you all to stay home this Thanksgiving weekend. The Sister Wives star on TLC said she fears a “morgue” Christmas if people travel. Of course, she’s not alone in condemning people who disregard calls for people not to gather in crowds or go out over Thanksgiving. And now, Pennsylvania faces the first alcohol ban since the prohibition.
Blunt Force Truth reported that Pennsylvania Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine signed off on the ban. And, they cited CBS Pittsburgh when they talked about Governor Wolf. He talked about fears that Pennsylvania might “run out of ICU beds in December if no action is taken.” And, Dr. Rachel Levine feels that the alcohol ban’s important. Governor Wolf said, “Restaurants and bars are ordered to suspend alcohol sales from 5 p.m. Wednesday to 8 a.m. Thursday.” Over on Twitter people responded harshly.
Do people respond too over-the-top about the alcohol sales ban?
Many people took to Twitter and slammed the ruling about the one-night-suspension on alcohol. One person wrote, “So now alcohol gives u covid? Just like 10:01 pm gives u covid. How is anyone so stupid that they dont see the government taking away all of your freedom by using a scamdemic?”
And another one commented, “Wtf does that have to do with covid? Wtf is wrong with these people!!!” And someone suggested the doctor’s “crazy.”
But, perhaps Pennsylvania residents fear this could just be the tip of the iceberg. Is it too over the top to react like this? Possibly, if you support total lockdowns, you think it is. But for South Africans who lived through months and months of total alcohol bans, the reality hurts. There, they brought in a ban, then lifted it briefly before reinstating it. Lifted some months later, the opposition in government vowed to strongly oppose a third ban. The ban led to hundreds of thousands, if not millions of job losses.
So is herms going to reimburse those small business sales being the holidays are biggest time of yr for these businesses. America stand up and file suits you will win ! Only legislatures pass laws and even then governors have to sign . Executive fiat is not constitutional law!

Prohibition leads to black-market trading and even death
While Pennsylvania only proposes a one-night-ban for now, it could very well lead to further regulations. In South Africa, some people who tried brewing their own alcohol died. Literally, thousands of traditional beer brewers went out of business as police poured vats out on the ground. Liquor store break-ins went through the roof, and prices on the back market went crazy. At the end of the day, people in that country feared the resultant poverty more than COVID-19.
Bear in mind that the draconian ruling meant people in all sectors of the industry suffered: from wait staff to bartenders, and truck drivers, and even those who harvest the crops for making alcohol. Admittedly, it’s a hard call for administrators like this in Pennsylvania who hope that they can control the coronavirus until a vaccination comes along. But these days, people also fear mandatory vaccines and what many perceive is an excuse to control the masses.
