Keep reading to find out 10 things that are illegal to do while driving your vehicle.

  1. Driving without your headlights at night is a big no-no when it comes to the law. This makes it hard for people to see your car on the road, making it unsafe to drive in that condition.
  2. Going along with number one, you cannot use your fog lights when the weather is clear. It can result in a fine if you do this.
  3. Driving with your hazards on is actually illegal as well. Some may do this in bad weather or if they have to go slower than the rest. However, this makes people think you are pulled over, so it could be dangerous if they cannot see that you are still on the road.
  4. This may be obvious, but you are not allowed to be on your phone while driving. This includes paying with your phone at a fast-food drive-thru.
  5. You cannot speed past a funeral procession. While some may have thought this was just common courtesy, it is in fact illegal and will get you in trouble if you do it.
  6. Mounting a GPS system on your windshield is also illegal. It has to be on your dashboard so it is not obstructing your view of the road. Make sure you have it in the correct place.
  7. A lot of people do this, but it is against the law to honk your horn out of anger. You can only do it to alert another vehicle that you are there. While this may not be enforced much, it is against the law.
  8. While you may not be under the influence, you are not supposed to drive tired. This can cause dangerous situations for everyone on the road at the same time as you if you are tired.
  9. You cannot wear earbuds when driving. This is so that all of your senses can focus on the road and others around you.
  10. Last but not least, you cannot drive with a broken windshield. Most people know this, but if you didn’t know, now you do.
