Carlin recently took to social media to share how they celebrated Zade’s birthday. Unlike Layla, who celebrated her special day on a Disney Cruise, the Bringing Up Bates star revealed that they prepared a surprise party for her soon in their home. They set up many balloons and waited for Zade to wake up. He was so thrilled about the celebration.
Carlin even shared her daughter Layla’s efforts to buy her brother a gift using the money she earned by herself. She also gushed over how Zade always says “thank you” for every little thing he receives. She added, “Watching you grow up so fast is bittersweet, but I’m beyond grateful for every precious moment with you. I love you so much, buddy!!!”

According to a thread, they hope that Carlin is still sending her son to speech therapy as he appears to struggle a lot in terms of speaking. Others agreed and also speculated that Carlin and Evan may not be correcting their son, which may have led to his lack of communication skills.
- “The thing that pisses me off is how they mispronounce words back to him to repeat what he said. It’s really not that difficult to say it correctly and then have the child repeat it correctly back to you. It doesn’t take long but I guess that would interrupt her video flow. Smh.”
