The latest season of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way and Before The 90 Days featured some of the most controversial cast members in the franchise. Some didn’t even take two episodes before showing their disturbing behavior. A handful of couples also broke NDAs mid-season and admitted that they were fake couples. Due to this, some Redditors are curious if TLC will finally return to more genuine couples. Keep reading to see the discussion.
90 Day Fiance: Rayne Fernandez Wins The Crown
Rayne may be the most controversial cast member fans have ever seen. She was introduced in the show as a woman who believes in aliens and the Illuminati. The 90 Day Fiance star also expressed her interest in swaying her boyfriend, Chidi, away from his strong devotion to Christianity. Their relationship didn’t end well. Rayne ended up badmouthing Chidi throughout the season. Rayne also accused Chidi of using her for a green card. However, Chidi stated online that he’s an educated man, and he knows he’s doing well in Nigeria even without a green card.
Will TLC Return To Non-Fake Couples?
Some Redditors discussed the possibility of non-fake couples being cast on future shows. This comes following the numerous “fake” couples in the 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way and Before The 90 Days season, who revealed that they were no longer a couple when they filmed for the show. This even includes Rayne and Chidi.
In a social media post, Chidi claimed that he and Rayne had already been separated for three years before she called him and asked to be on board for the reality show. Ingi Hilmar from TOW Season 6 also confessed that he and Corona Blakey were no longer a couple while filming as well. But some Redditors think it was TLC’s plan all along to put in controversial couples for the sake of viewership.
- “Any legitimate couple would (generally) not want to be on show as you get paid very little and expose your private life to millions of viewers. It would kill most serious careers too.”
- “No, they have perfected the casting formula to find the most bats**t insane people who will stir up the most drama. That’s the point.”
- “I must be in the minority because if there was no drama, I wouldn’t want to watch the show. Even if it’s fake I suspend my reality and pretend it’s real. That makes it fun for me.”
90 Day Fiance: Did TLC Fire Multiple Couples This Year?
It also appears TLC ditched a handful of cast members this year for allegedly breaking their NDAs. Some of them are Statler Riley and Dempsey Wilkinson, who have already confirmed their separation online. Statler even said in an IG Stories post that she was uninvited from the Tell-All, and some fans believe it was because she got fired.
There are also speculations that Rayne Fernandez’s 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days casting will be her last from TLC as well. She’s been going off on Threads, calling out the producers for painting her badly. She even accused them of distorting her face to make her look ugly, and it seems she no longer has an interest in building a relationship with the network.
