Bringing Up Bates stars Gil and Kelly Jo Bates kept in touch with fans after having their show canceled. UpTV parted ways with the family in 2022 after 11 seasons. But despite losing the show, many of the children continue thriving in life. Some Redditors even discussed their surprising career feat far from their family friend, the Duggars.
Bringing Up Bates: Why Did The Show Get Cancelled?
On January 18, 2022, UpTV announced they’re parting ways with the Bates family and their reality show, Bringing Up Bates. According to the network, they’re shifting their focus to new movies and scripted shows. The Bates family has already filmed for Season 11. But the episodes were never aired. Meanwhile, there are speculations that UpTV’s decision to cut ties with the Bates was due to the scandals of their family friend, the Duggars. Counting On also got canceled after Jim Bob and Michelle’s oldest son, Josh, got arrested for CSAM in 2021.
Surprising Career Feat Of Bates Children
Some Bringing Up Bates fans on Reddit discussed the amazing career feat of the Bates family after the show. According to the poster, they were curious about who actually works or has a business today aside from being social media influencers. The Reddit user was surprised when several people mentioned that almost the majority of the family has jobs and businesses.
One commenter mentioned that Katie, Lawson, and Tiffany are the only ones making income solely from being vloggers and social media influencers. However, many of their siblings have many other sources of income. Aside from Whitney and Carlin’s Bates Sisters Boutique, Michaela Bates has a store where she sells baby blankets. Brandon also has an undisclosed job in Knoxville, where he works from 5 am to 2 pm. Nathan is a pilot instructor, while Jackson works for a company that builds docks in Florida. Most of Gil and Kelly Jo’s sons-in-law have their careers as well. One of them is Travis, who’s been thriving in his career as a singer. Nathan is also a pilot instructor, while Kelton owns a plumbing company.
Bringing Up Bates: Kelly Jo Bates Pursuing Reality TV Comeback?
Kelly Jo Bates also made headlines earlier this year after making a barrage of posts about the film crew they worked with during the show. The Bringing Up Bates star said many of them became family and even attended weddings, birthdays, and gender reveals. According to some, Kelly Jo might be hoping to work with them again for another show or a spinoff, just like what TLC did with the Duggar family.
