Gil and Kelly Jo have been celebrating pregnancies, gender reveals, and other milestones of their children over the past few months. The Bringing Up Bates stars are currently expecting their 30th grandchild with Lawson and Tiffany. There are two other pregnant Bates today, making Gil and Kelly Jo’s grandchildren 32. Kelly Jo is more attentive when it comes to her grandkids, while Gil has been busy with his sermons at their church as a pastor.
Recently, Kelly Jo expressed how proud she was of Carlin’s daughter, Layla, for doing a great job in her swimming lessons. Many are also impressed that the Bates kids today are teaching their kids important life skills. But several Redditors recalled that some of Gil and Kelly Jo’s children are suffering from trauma even to this day.
Bates Kids Traumatized From Thunderstorms?
Some Bringing Up Bates fans on Reddit discussed an old belief in the Bates family that may still be followed today. According to the poster, they recalled a time when the kids were terrified of thunderstorms because they thought it might be the rapture and they had been left behind. The topic was brought up many times during the show, and several commenters wonder if Gil and Kelly Jo’s children are still scared about it today.

However, the Bringing Up Bates stars are still loved by their parents, making fans think that the Bates are no longer what they used to be while filming for the reality show.
