Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates Stewart is back with a worrying update about her husband, Evan. The married couple has been actively uploading vlogs to their YouTube channel. They recently shared their trip to South Carolina to pay a visit to Mama Jane and Papa Bill. Carlin even cried when her grandfather forgot who she was due to his dementia, and she had to introduce herself again. But it seems Carlin will go through another emotional roller coaster as her husband plans to undergo surgery. Keep reading to see what it was.
Bringing Up Bates: How Are Evan & Carlin Bates Today?
Carlin and Evan have been sharing positive content with their kids over the past few days. Carlin previously shared funny clips of her daughter, Layla, urging her to have another baby. The Bringing Up Bates star also revealed that her daughter has been praying every night for a new sibling.
Aside from their quality time with the kids, Carlin and Evan have also been thriving in their careers. The 26-year-old mom previously celebrated the fifth birthday of the Bates Sisters Boutique. Meanwhile, Evan presently works as a video editor and has made some projects with some of the Bates, including Zach’s cooking show. But it seems that Evan will have to make a major decision soon, as it may affect his job.
Carlin’s Husband Evan To Undergo Surgery?
In a YouTube post, Carlin Bates Stewart talked about the condition of her husband’s eyes. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, she’s been telling Evan to get LASIK surgery for years, but he won’t listen. Until recently, Evan revealed that he experienced weird symptoms of not being able to read some words while clearly seeing the others next to them. He also said that it happened while he was editing videos. Evan also described it as “very scary,” which is why he’s considering getting eye surgery. Here are some of the comments Evan received.
- “I got my lasik at 27 and it was THE BEST DECISION. I was never scared as I found a doctor I was really comfortable with and they also give you a medicine to calm your nerves (also helps you fall asleep after the surgery faster)”
- “LASIK was the best decision I made! I was 23 and it was so fast! 7min total and I went from wearing contacts for 13 years to being able to see clearly the next morning.”
- “Did Lasic at age 30, wore glasses / contacts since I was 5. No regrets at all. Got almost 20 years of fantastic sight. Now need glasses again, but just part of aging.”
Bringing Up Bates: Carlin Bates Wants A Blue-Eyed Baby
Carlin has been talking about having a third child. She previously revealed that her doctors weren’t worried about her health condition and believed that it was safe for her to get pregnant again. The Bringing Up Bates star suffered from seizure-like symptoms after giving birth to Zade. This also resulted in her doctors restricting her from driving for over six months.

Recently, Carlin Bates Stewart showed another sign of wanting a third child after uploading a close-up clip with her family showing off their eyes with the caption, “Will we ever have a blue-eyed baby?”
