Upcoming Horror: 5 Scary Movies Releasing March 25-April 1

As March comes to a close the horror genre has even more films to add to their watch list. ‘Morbius’ leads the charge will a theatrical release on April 1 via Sony Pictures. Shudder adds to their list of exclusive films with the release of ‘Night’s End’ on March 31. Here is a list of 5 upcoming horror movies releasing over the next week.

Upcoming Horror:

You Are Not My MotherMarch 25 (VOD)
Synopsis:
“In a North Dublin housing estate, Char’s mother goes missing. When she returns, Char is determined to uncover the truth of her disappearance and unearth the dark secrets of her family.”

Kate Dolan direct’s her first feature film in the form of ‘You Are Not My Mother.’ The film is being described as ‘eerie Irish folk horror,” so fans can expect an arthouse feel. ‘You Are Not My Mother’ is also said to be inspired by “ancient mythology of the changeling, a creature that takes on human form.” The film will be available on-demand and distributed by Magney Releasing in the United States.

On the 3rd Day- March 29 (DVD/Bluray)
Synopsis:
“While on a trip with her young son, Cecilia has a car accident. Three days later, she finds herself wandering a lonely road with no sign of her child—and no memory of what happened since the crash.”

‘On the 3rd Day’ is an Argentinian upcoming horror film directed by Daniel de la Vega. Heavy themes of religon will play a major role, including a religious fanatic as the main antagonist. ‘On the 3rd Day’ will get a phsycioal media release on March 29 via Scream Factory.

Shudder’s exclusive

Night’s End- March 31 (Shudder)
Synopsis:
“In Night’s End, an anxious shut-in unwittingly moves into a haunted apartment and hires a mysterious stranger to perform an exorcism which takes a horrific turn.”

Jennifer Reeder directs the latest entry into the exorcism subgenre of horror starring Micahel Shannon. The streaming service Shudder has the rights and will debut the film on March 31.

Let the Wrong One In April 1 (VOD)
Synopsis:
“Young supermarket worker Matt, who is a little too nice for his own good, uncovers a tragic new reality. Matt finds out that his older, estranged brother Deco has turned into a vampire, as he’s faced with a curious dilemma.

‘Let the Wrong One In’ is a horror-comedy from Ireland by director Conor McMahon. Poking fun at the vampire film ‘Let the Right One In,’ ‘Let the Wrong One In’ takes a humorous take on a vampire film. Dark Sky Films will distribute the upcoming horror movie in the United States with a VOD release on April 1.

Upcoming Horror: Marvel’s Vampire

Morbius– April 1 (Theatrical)
Synopsis:
“Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble to save himself and others like him. What at first appears to be a success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.”

Sony Pictures take another stab at their Marvel Multiverse within the world of Spider-Man. After the success of ‘Venom,’ however, news circulated about an origin story featuring Morbius. After several delays, Jared Leto as the titular character in ‘Morbius’ will get a theatrical release on April 1.
