WWE Summerslam 2021: Confirmed Matches and Predictions

Robby Steven

WWE Summerslam 2021 will take place on August 21 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. It’ll be the first time ever that the event will take place in a stadium in the United States, and it will also occur on a Saturday. The last massive crowd for a Summerslam was in 1992  at Wembley Stadium, London, England. With the event only a few weeks away, the card is starting to take shape on both the WWE Raw and WWE Smackdown side of the WWE Universe.

Confirmed matches

Universal Championship — Roman Reigns (c) vs. John Cena
After Roman Reigns defeated Edge at WWE Money in the Bank, the Head of the Table stood tall until that familar music hit. John Cena made his return to the WWE after more than a year and went face to face with the Universal Champion. Since then, a match between the two has been teased. On Friday Night Smackdown, Cena found himself with a pen in his hand as he signed a contract to meet Reigns for the title at Summerslam in August.

Raw Women’s Championship — Nikki A.S.H. (c) vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Rhea Ripley
Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley have been at the top of the WWE Raw women’s division over the last few months. Despite this, the Money in the Bank PPV changed the direction of the women’s division. Nikki A.S.H. entered the women’s Money in the Bank match and pulled off the upset by winning the briefcase. The next night on WWE Raw, Nikki cashed in her briefcase on Charlotte and won the title. Charlotte and Ripley have both demanded a shot at the title, with both women getting their shot at WWE Summerslam.

WWE SummerSlam predictions:

There are several matches that haven’t been officially signed for WWE Summerslam but seem highly likely.

WWE Championship Match: Bobby Lashley (c) vs. Goldberg
Bobby Lashley has dominated the WWE Raw roster, but was met face to face with Goldberg a few weeks back. The WWE Hall of Famer has been an on-again off-again member of the roster, picking his spots when he sees fit. With the biggest party of the summer just a few weeks away, it seems like Goldberg will get his shot at the title once again.

SmackDown Women’s Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Sasha Banks
Sasha Banks has wanted her title back after losing it to Bianca Blair at Wrestlemania. After appearing to make amends with Belair on the most recent WWE Smackdown, Banks turned her back on the champion. A match between the two seems highly likely.

Additonal predicitons:

United States Championship: Sheamus (c) vs. Damian Priest

Raw Tag Team Championship: AJ Styles & Omos (c) vs. Randy Orton & Riddle

Smackdown Tag Team Championship: The Usos (c) vs Rey and Dominik Mysterio

Edge vs Seth Rollins

Finn Balor vs. Baron Corbin
