The British Royal Family is totally up-to-date when it comes to keeping in touch with Harry and Meghan. They have apparently keep in touch using the family’s WhatsApp group. In fact, they shared the news and images of baby Lili shortly after her birth. Despite what the media is saying, reportedly Harry did check with Queen Elizabeth to get approval for their baby’s name. Harry and Meghan’s daughter is named for the Queen’s nickname, Lilibet, and her late grandmother, Princess Diana.
Harry & Meghan keeping the Royal Family updated on WhatsApp
So, it seems it isn’t just us mere mortals that use WhatsApp to keep in touch. The British Royal family has its own WhatsApp group to share news and images about the family. This includes an image of baby Lili that Harry and Meghan shared with the Queen following her birth. They also keep the Royal Family up-to-date with their two-year-old son, Archie.
ET shared the news, shortly after Lilibet’s aunt, Kate Middleton, publicly shared her excitement over her new niece. She was asked about Lilibet at an event she attended along with First Lady Jill Biden. Kate said she wishes Lily all the very best and that she can’t wait to meet her.
However, she added that she and Prince William have yet to see her and they hope it will be soon.
Kate Middleton acting as intermediary
According to a royal source, Kate has been acting as an intermediary to help smooth the relationships between Harry and the Royal Family. This comes following Harry and Meghan’s bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March. Prince Harry made further remarks about the Royal Family on a podcast and also on his documentary The Me You Cannot See.
The source said that Harry has always been exceptionally close with Kate. She reportedly realizes the importance of maintaining the brotherly bond between William and Harry. While Kate is acting as a peacemaker between Harry and his offended relatives, the source said that Harry had texted with Kate following Lili’s birth.
Harry & Meghan had approval for Lilibet’s name
The media has been rife with the rumor that Harry didn’t ask the Queen for approval to use her nickname for his daughter. However, royal expert Kate Nicholl told ET that he did, indeed, get Her Majesty’s approval.
Nicholl has said in the past that the new baby will be a “rift healer” for Harry and the Royal Family. She noted that the family division has gone on for over a year now. In fact, it has been a long time since Prince Charles, the Queen and the Cambridges have seen Archie in the flesh.
She says it is known that there are some “really quite deep problems” between Harry and William and their father. However, Katie believes baby Lilibet will be a peace offering and that she hopes she will bring the divided family back together again.
While royal fans are longing to see images of baby Lilibet, at least we now know the Royal Family has had the chance to enjoy them.
