4) Mercedes Martinez d. Zayda Ramier
Highlight Moment: Zayda Ramier is able to get the advantage with a dropkick and a brief flurry but is quickly cut off. When the lights come on, Martinez is left with the black mark of Xia Lee.

Storyline Progression: Zayda Ramier recently picked up an upset win over Toni Storm and looked to make it two in a row. Mercedes Martinez, on the other hand, had other plans.

Final Analysis: An extended squash to move Mercedes Martinez into a program with Xia Lee. Take a Pass. *1/2

Tag action

3) Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon d. Raquel Gonzalez & Dakota Kai
Highlight Moment: Raquel Gonzalez starts off by using her power to corner Ember Moon before making the tag to Dakota Kai. Kai and Gonzalez rotate tags until Shotzi Blackheart makes the take. Moon hits an elbow and Blackheart connects with a standing moonsault on Kai before the commercial. Back from the break as Moon gets the tag and lands a stuff dropkick to the face of Gonzalez. Moon and Blackheart attempt a Doomsday Device but Gonzalez pulls Kai off before eating a crossbody for Blackheart. Gonzalez goes for the one-arm powerbomb-chokeslam but Moon counters into a standing Eclipse. Moon and Blackheart hit double team stunner-slam for the win. After the match, Gonzalez and Kai deliver a vicious beatdown.

Storyline Progression: Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon lost the WWE NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles two weeks ago in an instant classic street fight. In an attempt to get back on track, former champs went face to face against NXT Women’s Champion Raquel Gonzalez and Dakota Kai.

Final Analysis: This match rocked. All four women have great chemistry and it’s night and day compared to what is seen on the main roster. Worth a Watch. ***1/2

WWE NXT: Fish returns

2) Pete Dunne d. Bobby Fish
Highlight Moment: Bobby Fish charges Pete Dunne and gets the early advantage. Dunne is able to gain the advantage after a stiff forearm before targeting the ankle. The action moves back to the ground with a submission and strike exchange before Dunne lands a modified facebuster for the victory. After the match, Oney Lorcan runs out to beat down Fish.

Storyline Progression: Bobby Fish has been on the shelf since WWE NXT War Games back in November. Fish had a score to settle with Pete Dunne and set his eyes on the UK standout for his first match back.

Final Analysis: Great professional wrestling. Bobby Fish held his own and kept up with Dunne every step of the way and it’ll be interesting to see where a Fish-Lorchan feud goes from here. Must-Watch. ****

WWE NXT: Main Event

1) NXT Title Match: Karrion Kross d. Finn Balor
Highlight Moment: Finn Balor maintains the early advantage with an armbar that carries through the first commercial. Back from the break, Kross is able to bounce back, locking in a chin lock of his own before Balor breaks free. Balor works over Kross in the corner until Kross attempts a belly-to-belly suplex. Balor reverses into an armbar before a roll-up leads to a double stop. Kross attacks Balor as he’s having words with the referee as the action heads outside. Kross is caught between the apron and the ring skirt prompting Balor to fly off the apron with a swing kick. Back inside, Kross regains control through the next commercial, hitting a vertical and a northern lights suplex in the process.

The action continues

Back from the break as both men have a strike exchange in the middle of the ring with Kross getting the better of it. Balor attempts a double stomp but Kross blocks it before attempting a straight jacket sleeper. On the outside of the ring, Kross slams Balor’s head into the barricade before hitting a Razor’s Edge onto the plexiglass. The action moves back into the ring with Kross going for another powerbomb but it’s reversed into a DDT. Slingblade by Balor and a closeline to Kross moves the action outside again. Balor hits a flipping plancha to the floor but Kross shakes it off to land a backdrop onto the announce table. Balor makes a comeback in the ring with a running dropkick. Up top, Balor goes for the Coup de Grâce but Kross moves and delivers a German suplex. Balor gets a quick roll-up for a two count as both men exchange strikes on the ground. Balor goes for a straight jacket but Kross counters into a powerbomb. The champion connects on several elbows to the back of Balor’s head leading to a straight jacket submission for the win.

Storyline Progression: Karrion Kross defeated Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver to win the title last month. In recent weeks, WWE NXT has been building the rematch hard, and both men went one on one to close out the show.

Final Analysis: The match started out slow but really picked up the pace as time moved forward. The result was predictable, but the match itself was very good and for a TV main event, it’s a Must-Watch to close out the feud. ****1/4
