British tabloids have reported that Meghan Markle’s behavior at Kensington Palace had driven out two personal assistants. Allegedly, her behavior had also undermined the confidence of a third staff member. Markle’s spokesman has said the Duchess is “saddened” by the allegations.
Meghan Markle accused of bullying Kensington Palace staff
A report in The Times quotes a complaint made in October 2018 by Jason Knauf, communications secretary for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. The complaint alleged that Markle had driven two personal assistants from the household. It further stated that the former Suits star had undermined the confidence of a third staff member.
The spokesman said how saddened Markle is by this latest attack on her character. He said this is particularly so, as she has been the target of bullying herself. The spokesman said how deeply committed the Duchess is in supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma.
The spokesman continued, saying Markle is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world. He added that she will continue striving to set an example for “doing what is right and doing what is good.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah
The news surfaces days before Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Meghan and Harry is set to air on CBS. The two-hour special will air on Sunday, March 7. No doubt, the royal household will be holding its collective breath for revelations made in the interview.
As noted by Hello!, the couple will be seen seated in the garden of their Montecito, California home as they discuss life within the royal family. The Duke and Duchess will also speak openly of their exit from their senior roles in the royal family.
Initially, the interview is between Oprah and Meghan, with Harry joining in a little later. Two, 30-second excerpts from Oprah with Meghan and Harry were recently released. The first sees Winfrey asking Markle if she was “silent or silenced.” She later asks Meghan, “Almost unsurvivable. Sounds like there was a breaking point?”
Prince Harry appears in the excerpt, obviously referring to his mother, Princess Diana’s fate. He says, “My biggest fear was history repeating itself.” At the end of the first excerpt, Oprah tells the couple, “You’ve said some pretty shocking things here.”
Second teaser clip for Oprah with Meghan and Harry
The second introductory clip reveals Harry, saying how grateful he is to have had Meghan’s support during his exit from royal life.
The interview promises fireworks among the royal family and comes as Prince Harry’s grandfather, Prince Philip, is still in the hospital. The Duke of Edinburgh, 99, spent almost two weeks in the King Edward VII hospital. Prince Philip has since been transferred to St Bartholomew’s Hospital for tests relating to a pre-existing heart condition.
Oprah With Meghan And Harry will air on CBS on March 7, 2021.
