It seems Prince Harry can’t do anything right these days. Royal critics are slamming the timing of his recent interview with James Corden. They allege that Harry’s interview stole attention away from Queen Elizabeth’s COVID-19 vaccination push.
Prince Harry steals attention from Queen Elizabeth
One source told the British Daily Mail that when Queen Elizabeth speaks, as she has about the COVID-19 vaccine, it is accepted that she “has a clear field.” However, at a time when the Queen makes an effort to encourage her subjects to have the vaccination, Prince Harry’s interview fills the headlines.
“Keep up the good work.”

The story of Prince Harry’s chat with James Corden on Carpool Karaoke hit the British headlines on Friday, hours after the Queen made her own effort. Queen Elizabeth participated in a WebEx video call with medical experts from all over the United Kingdom. She did so to encourage the UK public to have the vaccination.
In the video call, the Queen even spoke about her own health matters, which is something extraordinary for the royal. She told viewers that she had “the jab” and that it “didn’t hurt at all.
Bad timing on Harry’s part?
Harry’s Los Angeles tour with Corden was filmed before Queen Elizabeth confirmed the disengagement of the Sussexes as senior royals. On the show, Prince Harry shared that he never intended to completely abandon his royal position. He said it was never walking away, but was “stepping back, rather than stepping down.” The prince claimed that the British media has had negative effects on his mental health.
The reason for the timing of James Corden’s interview could have been an attempt to beat Oprah Winfrey to the punch. The famous talk show host has also famously interviewed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Whether Corden had any idea that Queen Elizabeth was about to do a COVID-19 vaccination push is pretty doubtful. He may be English, but he does live in California, after all.
Despite that fact, royals expert Phil Dampier spoke up. He said, “As The Queen urges us to think of others, Prince Harry prances about in LA.” He said Harry makes the “absurd claim that he hasn’t walked away from the royals.” Dampier asked what planet Harry is on, adding, “Hollywood, I suppose.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle still in the headlines
Royal expert Robert Jobson said timing is everything. He said that the Queen had issued an “important message” on that day. She was urging the nation to have the vaccine. Prince Harry had “blurred the message” with the interview airing that day. The royal expert added that the Prince, a man who wants a private life, was talking about his private life again.
While Harry and Meghan continue doing good deeds through their Archewell Foundation, they still manage to stay in the headlines.
