IMPACT Wrestling presented it’s first PPV event of 2021 that came with a stacked card and a main event storyline involving AEW World Champion Kenny Omega. Due to COVID precautions, the event took place on a closed set in Nashville, Tennessee and live on PPV.
6-Man Tag Team Main Event
Kenny Omega, and The Good Brothers (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) defeated Rich Swann, Chris Sabin and Moose
The match the wrestling world has been waiting to see didn’t disappoint at IMPACT Wrestling’s Hard to Kill. AEW Champion Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers closed the show against IMPACT’s top stars, including champion Rich Swann. Moose, a replacement for Alex Shelly, proved his worthiness in the match by highlining his power and athleticism. At one point, the near 300lb Moose hit a Spanish Fly onto Omega for a 2 count.

The match went back and forth, protecting all six wrestlers from looking week, which is important in an inter-promotional feud. In the end, Kenny Omega picked up the win for his team after a One-Winged Angel on Rich Swann. ****
IMPACT Wrestling Title Matches
Knockouts Tag Team Championship Match
Tasha Steelz and Kiera Hogan defeated Havok and Nevaeh
The finals of the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team tournament set a new path for the women of IMPACT. Despite the size difference, Steelz and Hogan were able to win the titles in a solid match that was clunky at times but still got the job done. **
X-Divison Title Match
Manik (c) defeated Chris Bey and Rohit Raju
The X-Divison in IMPACT Wrestling means no limits and that’s what all three wrestlers delivered. In the most athletic match of the night, the X-Divison Triple Threat provided several highlights. Despite the best efforts of Bey and Raju, Manik was able to sneak in for a pin on Raju to retain his championship. ***1/2
Impact Knockout Championship Match
Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs Taya Valkyrie
With the IMPACT Wrestling Knockout Title on the line, Rosemary, Susan, Crazzy Steve and Kimber Lee were all quickly ejected from ringside. In a sleeper match of the night, Purrazzo retained after locking in a double armbar that forced Valkyrie to submit. ***
IMPACT Wrestling: Extreme Battles
Barbed Wire Massacre
Eddie Edwards vs Sami Callihan—Barbed Wire Massacre
A barbed-wire massacre in IMPACT Wrestling is when the entire ring is covered and surrounded in various forms of barbed-wire. The stipulation set the stage to close out the long-running feud between Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan. Quickly the blood was flowing as Edwards threw Callihan into the barbed wire ropes before covering his head with a barbed-wire crown.

Sami Callihan didn’t give up as he quickly turned the tables on Eddie Edwards, causing him to bleed with a barbed-wire N64 controller. Callihan then hit Edwards with a second rope piledriver through a barbed wire board, but it wasn’t enough to close the deal. The match finally came to an end when Edwards hit Callihan with the Emerald Fusion on a barbed wire board. ****
Old School Rules Match
Violent by Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering and Deanor) defeated Tommy Dreamer, Rhino and Cousin Jake
Old School Rules in IMPACT Wrestling is a hardcore match, and that is what we got. The veteran team led by Tommy Dreamer put up a solid fight but it was not enough. “Violent by Design” used chairs, thumbtacks, and more to get the victory when Eric Young hit a piledriver on Cousin Jack for the three count. **1/2
The Undercard
Rosemary and Crazzy Steve defeated Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb with a K
Rosemary reunited with Crazzy Steve as Decay on last week’s Impact Wrestling for the first time in 4 years. Kicking off the main show with a solid effort that didn’t take much time to wrap up, Decay picked up the win following a tornado DDT from Steve to Kaleb. **

Matt Cardona d. Ace Austin
In an impromptu match, rising star in IMPACT Wrestling Ace Austin demanded a match on the PPV and was greeted by Matt Cardona, the former Zack Rider in the WWE. After only a few minutes of exciting action, Cardona got the DQ win due to outside interference from Austin’s partner Madman Fulton. Too short to have much of an opinion, but call it **.
The Karate Man vs Ethan Page
Ethan Page and his alter ego The Karate Match faced off in a cinematic match that stood out from the rest of the show. Cinematic matches have been all the rage in the era of COVID, which are often hard to rate. Fighting in front of greenscreen shots of different locations, the Karate Man picked up the win after ripping out the heart of Page. No ratings for this one.

On the Pre-Show

For a match on the pre-show both wrestlers gave main show performances for IMPACT Wrestling. The contest ended with Myers, the former Curt Hawkins in WWE, getting the win with a lariat closeline. **3/4
