Gwen Stefani is officially free to marry her long-time beau, Blake Shelton. The No Doubt singer was “finally granted” an annulment of her first marriage to Gavin Rossdale by the catholic church.
According to Us Weekly, Gwen and Gavin are long over. The couple ended their marriage back in August 2015. However, the catholic church still needed to dissolve the marriage.
Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale’s marriage is officially annulled
“Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal. She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it’s official.”
“It was a huge relief for Gwen because she wanted to get married by her priest and have the marriage recognized by the Catholic church,” a source claims.
Gwen and Blake are planning their wedding for sometime in 2021. Shelton has reportedly built a special chapel on the grounds of his Oklahoma ranch where the couple will likely tie the knot.

Sources say that the pandemic and quarantine opened Gwen’s eyes about her relationship with Blake. It also made her realize the kind of wedding she wants, according to sources.
“COVID-19 has turned their world upside down, as it has with so many families. Gwen knows she is blessed and wants to have the wedding as soon as social distancing guidelines are lifted. She wants to have a ceremony and reception with their family and friends,” the source says.
Gwen & Blake are no strangers to marriage
Gwen and Blake met back in 2015 when Stefani joined the judges’ panel on The Voice. The two hit it off and found a bond while going through painful divorces during that time.
After six years together, the fan-favorite couple announced their engagement in October 2020. This will mark Gwen’s second marriage. She and Gavin were married for 13 years before calling it quits.
“While the two of us have come to the mutual decision that we will no longer be partners in marriage, we remain partners in parenthood and are committed to jointly raising our three sons in a happy and healthy environment. To that end, we respectfully request privacy from the media during this time,” they said in a joint statement at the time.
