Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz has been putting on a show early in the season. He’s been posterizing players with his monster dunks despite his height disadvantage. Fultz is considered one of the most athletic point guards in the league today. He’s more of a scoring point guard similar to Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook. Unfortunately, Fultz season ended early after suffering from a torn ACL in his left knee.
NBA: Markelle Fultz Out For The Season After Suffering From Torn ACL In Left Knee
Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz suffered a season-ending injury during their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. During the first quarter, Fultz drove hard to the basket and went down screaming in pain while holding his left knee. Fultz left the court after suffering from a non-contact injury. After that, the Magic announced that Fultz’s MRI shows a torn ACL in his left knee. Fultz left the game with 3 points in 4 minutes of playing. Despite his absence, the Magic defeated the Cavaliers with a score of 105-94.
Fultz also opened up about his season-ending injury. In a social media post, Fultz thanked everyone for their thoughts and prayers. He also believes that his team has so much more to prove. Fultz ended his statements by saying, “I’m going to approach this recovery with all my heart and be the best teammate I can be to this organization. Faithful to the grind.”
Markelle Fultz’s Early Career Struggles
Markelle Fultz is the 1st overall draft pick in 2017. He was selected by the Philadelphia 76ers and was later traded to the Orlando Magic. Fultz had a slow start in his career. He struggled a lot in his shooting, especially with his free throws. However, Fultz has improved throughout the years. Now, his shooting is more consistent and attacks the rim much stronger. Fultz suffered a shoulder injury back in 2018. His ailment was later described as thoracic outlet syndrome, which affects nerves between the neck and shoulder resulting in abnormal functional movement and range of motion. This is also one of the main reseason why Fultz’s free throws back in the days look like he’s doing a pump fake.
NBA: Fultz’s Injury Puts One Of The NBA’s Best Comeback Stories On Hold
Fans have been rooting for Markelle Fultz this season. He’s been showing signs of becoming one of the best leaders in the Orlando Magic. Fultz faced a lot of criticisms back in the days. Many were saying that he doesn’t deserve to be a 1st overall draft pick. Little did everyone know, Fultz was actually suffering from the thoracic outlet syndrome, which badly affected his shooting form. Last year, Fultz showed that he’s back in his perfect condition. Fans started to believe that he might pull off one of the best comeback stories in the NBA. Unfortunately, Fultz’s season had to end early, putting his comeback story on hold.
