The Brooklyn Nets have been on a roll early in the season. Kevin Durant has been carrying the team alongside his backcourt partner Kyrie Irving. The Nets currently have a 3-4 record and they are set to face the Utah Jazz next. However, the Nets suddenly released a status report that puts Durant out of the game. Apparently, the NBA has strict Covid-19 protocols. It appears that Durant might have violated some of the protocols which caused him to miss their game against Jazz. The Nets also released an update on Spencer Dinwiddie’s partially torn ACL in his right knee.
NBA: Kevin Durant Out Due To Health And Safety Protocols
In a social media post, the Brooklyn Nets announced that Kevin Durant will be out due to health and safety protocols. Fans got confused about the announcement of the Nets. One fan commented, “Give us more information.” At this point, the Nets have yet to reveal the exact reason why Durant was ruled out. However, there are reports stating that Durant got exposed to a person with Covid-19. He’s also expected to quarantine for seven days, where he’ll miss four games. The Brooklyn Nets have been pushing hard to reach the playoffs this season. Each game is very important for the team. With Durant’s long absence, fans are hoping that the Nets won’t rule out Kyrie Irving as well.
Spencer Dinwiddie Underwent Successful Surgery
Brooklyn Nets shooting guard Spencer Dinwiddie suffered a partially torn ACL in his right knee during Monday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets. The Nets fell short against the Hornets with a score of 106-104. Before suffering from his injury, Dinwiddie managed to score 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists. Now, the Nets released an update about Dinwiddie’s injury. In a social media post, the Nets said that Dinwiddie underwent successful surgery on his partially torn ACL in his right knee. He’s also expected to begin rehab next week and make full recovery.
NBA: Kyrie & Durant Missed Game Winning Shots Against The Wizards
Brooklyn Nets’ Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant missed both of their game-winning shots against the Washington Wizards last Sunday. It was a back-and-forth game all the way to the fourth quarter that featured 12 lead changes. Down 1 with 7 seconds left, Irving pulls up for a three and missed. The Nets managed to tip it back to Durant and he pulled up in mid-range. Unfortunately, he also missed the game-winning shot. The Wizards defeated the Nets with a score of 123-122. Despite losing, Irving showed that he’s still one of the most dominating point guards in the league as he recorded his second double-double of the season. Irving scored 30 points, 5 rebounds, and 10 assists in 39 minutes of playing.
The Brooklyn Nets will face the Utah Jazz on January 5, 2021.
