FarmVille has created a lot of good memories for many Facebook users. Unfortunately, the farming simulation game is leaving Facebook by the end of 2020. The sad news comes after the social media company revealed that they’re going to stop supporting games that run on Adobe’s Flash Player. Apparently, Adobe announced that they’re going to end their support on the Adobe Flash Player on December 31, 2020. A lot of players were sad to hear the news, especially that there’s a lot of good games that run on Flash Player. However, it’s believed that the end of the Adobe Flash Player is a stepping stone for a much better Flash Player.
Facebook Will Remove FarmVille In 2 Days
Facebook previously announced that they will remove their games that are supported with Adobe Flash Player. This includes the removal of the farming simulation game, FarmVille. According to Facebook, the game will no longer be playable after December 31, 2020. The game’s payment system is now unavailable to all players. Back in 2009, Zynga revealed that FarmVille had the most daily active users on Facebook. However, the social media company made huge changes to the website in 2010 which drastically lowered the number of players in the game. Since then, FarmVille has never recovered, forcing Zynga to release a sequel called FarmVille 2. However, FarmVille 2 is only available on mobile and most fans think that it’s way too different from its predecessor.
Zynga Thanked Players As FarmVille Shuts Down
In a social media post, FarmVille developer Zynga thanked all the players that supported the game throughout the years. “We’re aware that many of you have been with us since the very beginning, helping to build an incredible global community of players over the years who’ve enjoyed this game just as much as we have, For that, we say thank you.” 2020 has been a rough year for most browser games which are mostly supported by Adobe Flash Player. At this point, mobile gaming is currently dominating the industry. Apparently, Zynga also released a lot of their latest games on mobile.
Will The Farming Simulation Game Ever Return?
FarmVille had more than 10 million daily active users. During its peak popularity, over 30 million people played the game daily. Now, it appears that Zynga has no plans on saving the once-popular farming game. Apparently, the gaming company released two sequels of the game on mobile devices. However, it didn’t quite capture the experience that the original game has brought. At this point, players can still harvest their crops for the last time in FarmVille. After 2 days, it will become unplayable on all browsers.
FarmVille 2 and FarmVille 3 are currently available on Android and iOS.
