The Golden State Warriors have been struggling early in the season. However, it appears that three-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry is ready to bring his team into a winning streak. Curry recently went headlines after he managed to hit 105 straight three-pointers in five minutes during their practice. Now, Curry’s outburst helped the Warriors win a crucial game against the Chicago Bulls with the help of Damion Lee’s winning shot. Unfortunately, the Warriors faced another problem as Marquese Chriss will need to undergo knee surgery.
NBA: Warriors’ Marquese Chriss Out For The Season
According to the Golden State Warriors, Marquese Chriss suffered a right ankle injury and fibular fracture during their team practice last Saturday. The Warriors also revealed that he will undergo knee surgery and will miss the rest of the season. Marquese Chriss is one of the most efficient centers on the Warriors’ roster. Fortunately, the Warriors still have several centers in the team such as Eric Paschall, Kevon Looney, and James Wiseman. However, it appears that the team badly needs Draymond Green’s playmaking ability. At this point, the Warriors have yet to reveal Green’s return. Apparently, Green was ruled out due to his foot issue.
Damion Lee’s Game-Winning Shot Helped The Warriors Get Their First Win
The Golden State Warriors got their first win of the season with the help of Damion Lee’s game-winning shot against the Chicago Bulls. It was an intense back-and-forth battle. During the 4th quarter with only a few seconds left, Lee managed to slip through Kevon Looney’s screen for a quick 3-pointer. He managed to hit the shot with still a few seconds remaining. Fortunately for the Warriors, the Bulls doesn’t have a timeout and they had to throw the ball from the halfcourt which badly missed. The Warriors defeated the Bulls with a score of 129-128.
NBA: Stephen Curry Dominates Against The Bulls
It appears that Stephen Curry’s 105 straight three-pointers during practice paid off well. He scored 36 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists. Andrew Wiggins also helped Curry with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists. Meanwhile, fans want Kelly Oubre Jr. out of the team due to his lack of performance. The Warriors’ social media page is filled with fans complaining about Oubre’s recent games with the team. One fan commented, “Aye y’all got to work on Oubre shot cuz Ik we did not just trade some picks for a guy that can only dunk.” Curry previously announced that his goal this season is for the Warriors to reach the playoffs. He also wants to make a statement that they’re still a championship-caliber team. However, fans think that they’ll only reach the top once Curry’s backcourt partner Klay Thompson returns.
The Golden State Warriors will face the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday, December 30.
