The NBA has released its annual general manager survey. The GM surveys predict next season’s award winners such as MVP, DPOY, and even the team that’s most likely to win the championship. This year’s survey features an intense battle in the MVP race between Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. The league’s best players in their specific positions were also revealed. The 2020-2021 GM survey also revealed that the defending champions Los Angeles Lakers made the biggest moves during the offseason.
NBA: Giannis & Luka Battles For MVP Prediction
According to the 2020-2021 GM survey, Giannis Antetokounmpo is most likely to win next season’s MVP award with 32 percent overall votes. Meanwhile, Luka Doncic is second with 21 percent overall votes. There hasn’t been a three-peat MVP since Larry Bird way back in 1983-1986. Due to this, Giannis might push even further to tie the record. However, Luka has been showing dominance over the past two games against the Milwaukee Bucks. Due to this, fans can expect that Giannis and Luka will have a very close battle for the 2020-2021 NBA MVP. Meanwhile, LeBron James and Anthony Davis are both in the third spot with 18 percent of votes.
Lakers Made The Best Moves
The Los Angeles Lakers made a lot of big moves during the offseason. It includes the departure of Dwight Howard, Rajon Rondo, and JaVale McGee. However, they also signed a lot of veterans such as Marc Gasol, Dennis Schroder, and Montrezl Harrell. According to the annual GM survey, the Lakers made the best offseason moves with 37 percent overall votes. Furthermore, the Lakers are also heavily favored to win next season’s championship with an outstanding 81 percent overall votes. Behind them is the Los Angeles Clippers with only 11 percent overall votes. If the Lakers managed to win their back-to-back championship next season, they will be the first NBA team to win 18 championships.
NBA: Stephen Curry Wins Best Point Guard
The Golden State Warriors were expected to reach the finals next season. However, Klay Thompson’s season-ending injury puts their hopes on hold. Now, Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has been showing signs that his team can still reach the top. The three-time NBA champion has been putting on a show during the preseason. He’s proving that he’s still one of the best shooters in the game by hitting a lot of long-range threes. The 2020-2021 GM survey also shows that Curry is still the best point guard in the league today with 30 percent overall votes. Behind him is Damian Lillard from the Portland Trail Blazers with 22 percent overall votes.
The NBA 2020-21 season will begin on Tuesday, December 22.
