Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most highly-anticipated games this year. Unfortunately, players have been experiencing a lot of issues in the game. Bugs and glitches are always expected on newly released games. However, Cyberpunk 2077 took 9 years of development, meaning that the developers had a lot of time to fix the issues that players have been experiencing today. The game mostly runs fine in the PC version. However, console players especially in previous generations are facing tons of problems in the game. One of which is the poor performance where the game constantly crashes.
Now, Sony released a statement regarding the cancellation of Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation Store. It’s definitely bad news for every console player. However, it may also be a lesson for CD Projekt Red to make their games well-optimized.
Cyberpunk 2077 Pulled Out From PlayStation Store
According to Sony, “SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store.” Cyberpunk 2077 has been receiving a lot of negative reviews. Most of them came from the console version. The game also faced a lot of refunds on the very first day of its release. With Cyberpunk 2077 almost unplayable on PS4 and PS5, Sony will be pulling the game from the PlayStation Store. According to Sony, “SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.”
CD Projekt Red has been releasing updates on the game over the last couple of days. However, players always end up discovering new bugs and glitches whenever a new update arrives. According to CD Projekt Red VP Michal Nowakowski, they’re trying their best to improve the game, especially on the PS4. However, with Sony planning to pull the game out of the PlayStation Store, it may be too late for the developers to fix the game.
Cyberpunk 2077’s Poor Performance On PS4 & Xbox One
The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 are considered the worst versions of the game. Players have been experiencing texture issues in the game. One of which is where NCPs suddenly becoming pixelated like a PlayStation 1 character. The game is originally planned to be released before the PS5 and Xbox Series X would arrive. Due to this, players expected that the game will have an amazing performance on both PS4 and Xbox One. Unfortunately, the game looks unpolished on the previous consoles.
Will Xbox Do The Same?
With Sony pulling out Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation Store, fans are expecting that Microsoft would do the same. Apparently, the game also looks bad on Xbox One. It also features pixelated graphics and constant crashing. If Microsoft decided to pull out the game from the Xbox Store, it will become a PC exclusive. Fortunately, the game runs perfectly fine on PC. However, it has very high system requirements which are more expensive than a next-gen console.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
