Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell holds a lot of sway in the Senate. He’s also extraordinarily popular in his home state of Kentucky. As doubts and confusion about the coronavirus vaccine sweep the country, he has a message for those unsure.
Looking Ahead To Coronavirus Vaccinations
Now that the election results are certified, Senator McConnell is thinking about the Coronavirus vaccine. He recently tweeted his thoughts on the matter.
Mitch McConnell contracted polio as a toddler in the 1940s. His left leg was paralyzed, but he eventually recovered through medical treatment. As a polio survivor, Senator McConnell says he is in favor of vaccines and will happily receive the Coronavirus vaccine when it’s his own turn.
“It’s the right thing to do for yourself, for your family, and for the country,” he tweeted.
As a polio survivor, I am a huge supporter of vaccinations. Whenever my turn comes, I will absolutely take the vaccine and do my part to reassure anyone who’s doubtful. It’s the right thing to do for yourself, for your family, and for the country. pic.twitter.com/xsHidTzN4s

For now, healthcare workers and the most at-risk populations will get the vaccine first. But politicians probably won’t be far behind. Senator McConnell’s time could come sooner rather than later.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell Did Not Acknowledge The Results Until Just Now
After the electoral college certified their votes, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell finally recognized Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 election.
Most of the major news networks called the election for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in the days following November 3. However, Senator McConnell declined to acknowledge the victory and instead said he would wait until the electoral college certified their votes. It seems he stayed true to his word.
But even so, Senator McConnell has been a fierce proponent of President Trump’s for ages. Now that he publically recognized Biden’s win, perhaps more of the President’s allies will follow in McConnell’s footsteps.
“Many of us had hoped the presidential election would yield a different result, but our system of government has processes to determine who will be sworn in on January 20th,” McConnell said on the Senate floor. “The Electoral College has spoken.”
Many Politicians Still Do Not Accept The Results.
Sitting President Trump refuses to admit defeat. Even his own Attorney General William Barr said there wasn’t any evidence of widespread voter fraud. But still, the President continues to push the matter on Twitter. He even recently tweeted that there is “tremendous evidence pouring in on voter fraud” shortly after McConnell recognized Biden as the President-elect.
Tremendous evidence pouring in on voter fraud. There has never been anything like this in our Country!

It seems that AG Barr knew his days were numbered as soon as he denied finding any evidence of voter fraud. Just recently, President Trump announced on Twitter that AG Barr turned in his resignation letter. Deputy Attorney General Jeff Rosen will fill the empty seat for the remainder of the Trump term. The President also recently turned on Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and said he would be “going to jail” for allowing Biden to take Georgia.
It’s no secret that those who do not remain loyal to President Trump suffer the consequences. Only time will tell if the President turns on Mitch McConnell too.
