Golden State Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson is one of the most unfortunate players in the league today. He suffered from a torn left Anterior Cruciate Ligament during game 6 of the NBA Finals back in 2019. Klay finally recovered after missing this year’s season. He’s was previously seen attending practices and working out in the gym. Unfortunately, Klay pushed himself too far during practice, causing him to get injured again. The Warriors confirmed that Klay suffered from a torn right Achilles during practice. Now, the Warriors released a new update on Klay.
NBA: Klay Thompson’s Surgery Went Successful
In a social media post, the Golden State Warriors announced that Klay Thompson underwent successful surgery. The surgery was performed by Dr. Richard Ferkel in Los Angeles. According to the Warriors, Klay is expected to sit for the rest of the 2020-2021 NBA season. Klay is also expected to reach full recovery next season. Klay has played in 615 regular-season games throughout his nine-year NBA career. He’s considered one of the best three-point shooters the today’s league. Apparently, Klay holds the record for most three-pointers made in a single game with 14 threes.
Klay’s Absence May Not Be An Issue For The Warriors This Season
The NBA Draft 2020 is filled with great talents and future NBA stars. Fans believe that the Golden State Warriors may have picked the best player in the draft. Apparently, the Warriors selected James Wiseman as their second overall pick. Wiseman is a complete package with his ability to shoot threes and dominate around the rim. He’s also a 7-foot athletic player that can easily block shots. If Wiseman played well in the Warriors, he may even win the Rookie of The Year.
Wiseman’s arrival is also perfect timing for the Warriors if they’re looking to push through the playoffs. Three-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry is also expected to make his return this season. Due to this, they have a high chance of reaching the top despite Klay’s absence.
NBA: Klay Thompson Expected To Return Stronger
Many NBA players suffered from season-ending injuries. One of which was Gordon Hayward’s gruesome injury where he suffered from a dislocated ankle and fractured tibia. However, Hayward returned to the league even stronger. The same scenario is expected for Klay Thompson. Furthermore, Klay doesn’t attack the rim that much and mostly scores by shooting threes. During the 2019 NBA Finals, Klay got back from the locker room to shoot two free throws on a torn ACL, showing how much dedication he has.
