Black Panther 2 is one of the much-awaited movies coming to Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige announced the sequel back in 2018. However, the heartbreaking passing of Chadwick Boseman, who played the role of Black Panther, raised a big question. Who’s going to play as Black Panther? The answer is no one. According to Marvel Studios EVP, Victoria Alonso, they have no plans to double Boseman’s character using CGI. She also said that they’re thinking carefully about how they’re going to honor Boseman’s contribution to the franchise and company. Now, new information about the casts of Black Panther 2 was reportedly revealed.
Black Panther 2: Original Supporting Casts Might Return
Black Panther’s original supporting casts were reportedly making a comeback in the sequel, such as Letitia Wright as Shuri, Angela Bassett as Queen Ramonda, Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, and Winston Duke as M’Baku. Danai Gurira also confirmed her return to the sequel as Okoye. During Black Panther and Avenger: Infinity War, Okoye can be seen protecting her king and Wakanda even if it’s going to cost her life. She’s been a very reliable and loyal companion to King T’Challa, making it hard for the fans to think about what she’s going to do in the sequel.
Shuri Taking On A Bigger Role?
There are reports stating that Shuri will take on a bigger role in Black Panther 2. Shuri is King T’Challa’s sister and the princess of Wakanda. In the comics, Shuri is one of the characters who took the mantle of Black Panther. The comics also revealed Shuri traveling to different places to learn fighting lessons from Ka-Zar, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Black Widow. Due to this, there’s a huge possibility that Shuri might be the stepping stone for the MCU’s version of X-Men if she tries to find Wolverine. At this point in time, Marvel has yet to reveal if Shuri will indeed take the role.
What Is The Plot Of Black Panther 2?
According to Kevin Feige, they wanted the sequel to explore more of Wakandan history. It’s no secret that the first movie had several confusing scenes. One of which is when T’Challa ate the herb and saw his father and other ancestors whose history was never told. Black Panther 2 director, Ryan Coogler, also announced that he wanted to show how T’Challa grows into his role as the king of Wakanda. However, things are most likely to change in the sequel after Chadwick Boseman’s passing.
