There is officially less than a month until Shameless Season 11 premieres. And, fans have been chomping at the bit for an official trailer of the final season of Shameless. While what was dropped on social media today wasn’t exactly what you would call an official trailer… It was packed with a ton of juicy details from the final season.
So, we did what any fan of the Showtime hit series would do. We watched it entirely too many times. We dissected it. And, now… Now, we have some ideas of what to expect from the final season of Shameless.
The final season of Shameless will embrace the pandemic
The Showtime hit series is pretty big on current world issues. So, it isn’t too much of a surprise that the pandemic was worked into the final season. This is something fans have known about for a while. It, however, was a pretty heated topic. According to Tv Shows Ace, a lot of fans of the show have a hard time wrapping their mind around the concept of Frank Gallagher wearing a face mask. And, some fans just didn’t like the pandemic being brought into the show. But, regardless of how you feel, we are going to see how the Gallaghers handle COVID-19.
“The final season of Shameless finds the Gallagher family and the South Side at a crossroads, with changes caused by the COVID pandemic, gentrification and aging to reconcile,” the network’s official description of the series reads.
As Frank confronts his own mortality and family ties in his alcoholic and drug induced twilight years, Lip struggles with the prospect of becoming the family’s new patriarch.
Newlyweds Ian and Mickey are figuring out the rules and responsibilities of being in a committed relationship while Deb embraces her individuality and single motherhood.
Carl finds an unlikely new career in law enforcement and Kevin and V struggle to decide whether a hard life on the South Side is worth fighting for.”
Shameless Season 11 Cast
Fortunately, we can also expect the entire core cast to return for one last hoorah. William H. Macy (Frank), Shanola Hampton (V), Steve Howey (Kev), Jeremy Allen White (Lip), Kate Miner (Tami), Cameron Monaghan (Ian), Noel Fisher (Mickey), Emma Kenney (Debbie), Ethan Cutkosky (Carl), Christian Isaiah (Liam), and Presley Schrader (Franny).
There are also several actors and actresses that have walked away from the show. Fans are hoping some of these individuals will return for even a guest appearance. Emmy Rossum (Fiona), Justin Chatwin (Jimmy/Steve), and Joan Cusack (Sheila Jackson) are three big names fans of the series would like to see one more time. Emma Greenwell (Mandy Milkovich) and Isidora Goreshter (Svetlana) are also two cast members fans would love to see one more time.
What did the trailer teaser tell us?
One big take away from the trailer is Debbie Gallagher seems committed to playing for the other team. It looks as if she’s traded one taboo relationship for another. She’s now getting cozy with her brother’s husband’s cousin, Sandy Milkovich.
Toward the end of the clip, Debbie is embarking on a new business ventures as a handyman. With the motto, “Debbie does everything,” Liam warns his sister she’ll be getting a lot of creepy requests.
